This exchange just happened on the Senate floor.
Cornyn: “I don’t understand how the SAVE Act disenfranchises voters.”
Durbin: “Happy to explain. Driver’s licenses don’t qualify under the bill. 50% of Americans don’t have passports.”
Cornyn: “Why not just amend it?”
Durbin: “When’s the last time the Senate actually amended a bill?”
Silence.
The SAVE Act requires passport-level documentation to register to vote.
50% of Americans don’t have a passport.
The people least likely to have passports: the elderly, the poor, rural Americans, young first-time voters.
The people most likely to have passports: wealthy Americans.
This is not voter protection.
This is voter selection.
And when a senator suggested fixing it — his own colleague couldn’t name the last time the Senate amended anything.
That’s the Senate in 2026.

Reasoning and statements such as this is why we need to be teaching actual US history in schools. Immunizations = slavery? Ridiculous!
I couldn’t have said this any better! I may not be the perfect leader, no one really is, but have always felt leading with honesty and integrity and making it about the people and the mission are my priorities. linkedin.com/posts/leadershi…
Tell that to Steph Curry and the rest of his teammates that are constantly in his ear to stop the antics.

What’s crazy is all the negative comments are 90% from white people and the remaining 10% are from fans of rival teams. Calling him a dirty ball player is plain disrespect. He’s an aggressive defender and probably should have learned to tone it down but y’all comments are wild.

To clarify, I am not saying that removal is not something that needs to happen for disruptive or unsafe behaviors. I'm saying that we need to address the root cause of the behavior through coaching and skill building. Removal alone, usually, doesn't cause change.

John Madden said winning is a great deodorant. It covers up what stinks about your team. Great teams have positive discontent. Even when they are experiencing success they still look for ways they can improve and are always striving to get better.
What a fun and engaging math night tonight! Building math skills and connections as a family. Equation of the night —— Reading + playing math games as a family = student success
Chalk it up to one of those questions I could never imagine being asked during the elementary school day. I walk into the cafeteria and am asked, “Mr. Mitchell, who did you think I should shoot this spit ball at?” I said, “Excuse me?” only to have the question repeated. 🤦♂️😂
