I take issue with much of the criticism leveled at Mayor Mamdani’s October 7 statement—not because it is undeserved, but because I believe it misses the deeper implication and is therefore far too mild.
His assertion that “the suffering did not begin nor end that day,” coupled with his references to occupation and apartheid, reads to me as more than a condemnation of Israel’s response. It implies that Israel created the conditions that brought about October 7 itself.
That implicit assignment of blame to the victims is what deserves the strongest condemnation.

It’s the other way around… 50 voted for it, all republican, but they needed 60. Also, this was like four months ago, I’m sure it will come to a vote again soon and pass.

Stop telling me what the U.S. “asserts”. It’s illegal no matter how you spin it or what anyone asserts. It also violates common sense.. you can’t steal a sovereign country or blockade a sovereign county.
I think you misunderstand what Barry is saying. previously, the world saw the U.S. as an imperialist plutocracy or oligarchy but will mostly lawful institutions at least as international norms went but now the U.S. is seen as a kleptocracy or a mafiacrocy and is shitting on norms
