Firearms are the leading cause of death for “children” ONLY if you stretch the definition to ages 1–19 and lump in 17–19-year-old gangbangers AND suicides.
For actual kids under 10 or even under 15, cars, drowning, and congenital problems still kill more. CDC data shows the bulk of those firearm deaths are older teens, homicides in high-crime cities and suicides, not toddlers shot at school.
You ignore the illegal guns, the fatherless homes, and the soft-on-crime policies that drive the teen homicide numbers while screeching about “safety.”
Oregon’s own gun laws and progressive cities haven’t stopped the problem; they just give you a talking point.
Prioritize locking up the shooters instead of disarming the law-abiding.

I got a share ride from a guy who grew up in a Soviet 'stan. He served 2 years in the Red Army at the same time I served in the US Army. We were ~100 miles away from each other.
We did a veteran's thing where we tried to show who had it roughest. He won. It wasn't even close. The Red Army was just a glorified prison.
In Buddhism, Idiot compassion is a superficial or misguided form of being "nice" that avoids conflict and discomfort. Instead of helping someone grow or heal, it enables destructive behavior because the giver cannot bear to witness or deal with immediate tension or suffering.

Then Tyler Robinson walked up and shot Charlie Kirk dead because he “had enough” of Kirk’s politics.
Democrat politicians like Kamala Harris personally pushed the bail fund that sprang the rioters and more than a dozen Biden campaign staffers wrote checks to it after the cities were already on fire.
They fund the violence, they platform it, they look away when the violence moves the Overton window in their direction, and then they celebrate.

Half the time communists insist they just want babies to have food. The other half they’re demanding that anyone with more than them be cut down to size.
That contradiction gives away the game. If feeding the poor were really the priority, they’d celebrate anyone who produces more food, makes it cheaper, creates jobs, or raises living standards—even if that person gets rich doing it.
Instead, profit itself becomes the sin. They’d rather punish the man getting rich making food cheaper than tolerate his success because hungry people are eating better.
Intentional or not, it produces a morality where making the successful worse off matters more than making the poor better off. The hungry baby becomes the sales pitch; resentment is the policy.
