Today is @EquisLabs 2nd anniversary! Turns out unpacking the nuance of the Latino electorate is not an easy feat - so we aren't going anywhere!
Soon we'll have more on what happened in 2020 w Latinx voters - including the question of Latino Trump voters.
After extensive research earlier this year, we now present key takeaways on the best messages, messengers and tone to use when reaching Latinx audiences online. It’s our “Project Gigante” THREAD 1/ bit.ly/projectgigante
We tested 12 different messages (all videos and scripts are linked). Invoking Trump (vs leaving him out) increased our respondents’ excitement about voting (note, however, that these ads were hardly traditional “attack” ads) 5/
We tested 24 videos using a mix of messenger (young Latino, young Latina, older Latino, older Latina,non-Latinx) & tone ( emotional, angry, serious). What worked best with which audience? Check out our report here bit.ly/projectgigante
Wondering how best to move #LatinxVoters with your digital content? We did the research and present Project Gigante: data-driven recs for Latino subgroups like young Latinas, unregistered Latinos etc (EquisLabs.us/resources)
Replying to @stephanievalenc
@Stephanievalenc oped in the @Nytimes today on the Latino voters Democrats cannot ignore. nytimes.com/2020/05/06/opini…
Yet, as it stands, up to 57% of Latino eligible voters in battleground states COULD sit out of the 2020 elections.
So how do @JoeBiden and Dems reach new heights of turnout and support among Latinos voters? Latinas and ambivalent voters are two important places to start.

At Equis we continue to focus on this fall’s election. The stakes just grow and grow. Stay tuned for more from us on Latino voters in this moment. (/FIN)

According to @PewHispanic we already we see signs that it is the young and those without a college education, groups highly represented in the Latinx community, who are some of the most impacted.
