Can Europe go green without pricing its steel industry out of existence? Rising energy and carbon costs threaten jobs and factories. Is Europe cutting emissions or exporting its industry?
37
Can Europe fight obesity while potentially making essential medicines more expensive? EU wastewater rules aim to protect the environment, but could they also raise medicine costs and threaten supply?

Europe needs a smarter balance: prevention, affordable healthcare and clean water.

What happens if we wait until the threat is already at our doorstep? Europe needs to invest in defence, but how can we turn that spending into investment in European companies? And should urgent projects allow for limited environmental exceptions?
33
Should healthcare rely more on private initiative? Private companies can drive innovation and better outcomes. But if someone gets sick and can’t afford treatment, they shouldn’t be left without life-saving care. Freedom and a state safety net can coexist.

Europe is ageing, but not necessarily ageing healthily. We live longer, yet often spend up to the last 15 years of life with declining health and quality of life. By 2050, nearly one in three Europeans will be over 65. The answer is a shift from healthcare to health care. Prevention starts with everyday choices: 🥗 Balanced nutrition 🚶‍♀️ Regular movement and strength training 🧠 Mental health and social connection 😴 Quality sleep 🩺 Early detection instead of late treatment Healthy longevity means more active, independent years for people, society and Europe’s economic resilience. We can achieve this change if the public and private sector work hand in hand. Not just a longer life. A longer, healthier, better life.
🫀Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of premature death in the EU. 🛡️Yet, many can be prevented. We are stepping up our work on prevention by supporting EU countries in designing and implementing cardiovascular health checks at national level. 👉🏽 link.europa.eu/rKnx8n

Is the EU finally ready to pause the bureaucracy? 11 EU countries want a one year “simplification” period to review existing laws, cut red tape, and rethink how new rules are made. Now, can Brussels reduce bureaucracy without creating a 47 page form explaining how?

Can Europe stay competitive without lowering its climate ambition? Yes. Competitiveness and environmental ambition are compatible. We don’t have to choose between protecting jobs and protecting the planet we can do both.

Are we protecting children’s mental health or silencing them? Ursula von der Leyen’s State of the Union speech celebrates young inspiration while proposing sweeping social media restrictions. Protection should empower families, not impose one size fits all rules.

More environmental regulations does that really mean more bureaucracy? The Nature Restoration Law is designed to be simple, flexible and open. But what does it actually mean for farmers and forest owners?

What if healthy eating isn’t about cutting out chocolate or ice cream? It’s about getting the basics right: a nourishing, balanced plate, and if we want healthier choices, we should make fruit & vegetables more affordable and accessible.
