Happy Friday! We are wrapping up the week with some good news for our community.
Kelli and our new helping hand Steve visited the nearest Community Pantry at Old Sarum this week to see firsthand how they support local people – including some of our veterans. These Pantries are fantastic, friendly community resources that can help budgets stretch further and allow our residents to focus on building their civilian.
And the good news is that an official new community pantry is opening here in Wilton next month! Thanks to Wilton Town Council for supporting this fantastic new collaborative initiative that will really make a difference.
Have a good weekend.

He’s been part of the family for a little while now, and we already can't imagine Entrain Space without Rob Johns, our new Building Manager!
Rob hit the ground running from day one and spent his first few weeks getting to know our residents and making sure our facility runs like clockwork.
Rob is a veteran himself. He left the Corps of Royal Engineers in 2021 following 25 years of dedicated service, and transferred directly into the Army Reserve, where he continues to serve as an infrastructure specialist with the Royal Engineers.
As we enter an exciting new chapter of redevelopment at Entrain Space, Rob’s extensive experience in construction, facilities management and project management is exactly what we need. He’ll be steering us through some fantastic upcoming building upgrades that will make our spaces even better for the veterans we support.
Please join us in giving Rob a massive welcome in the comments below! 👇🎖️

Great to see Matthew connecting with Rachel Willis, Lead Practitioner from the Defence Gardens Scheme, at last week's Crisis and Resilience Fund partnership event in Trowbridge.
They spent time discussing Salisbury’s "secret garden" and the incredible therapeutic work being done to support veterans – including some of our own. They even found themselves dreaming big about a future partnership minibus! 🚌✨

Great energy at the Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF) partnership event in Trowbridge last week! It was fantastic connecting with the team at @wiltscouncil and fellow partners in the CRF ecosystem to discuss opportunities to work together to strengthen delivery.
Our team is currently hard at work behind the scenes laying the groundwork for a major new chapter. While we can’t share the details just yet, attending this event has given us incredible momentum for what’s ahead.
Watch this space! 👀

Behind every great event is an incredible team working hard behind the scenes! ✨
As we look back on our recent breakfast event, we want to give a massive shout-out to our fantastic caterers, Salisbury & Amesbury Armed Forces & Veterans Breakfast Club (AFVBC). Not only did they keep our guests incredibly well-fed, but their warmth made everyone feel truly welcome. 🤝❤️🍽️
We also want to say a huge thank you to the talented team who helped us capture and present the event so professionally. The stunning photos we’ve been sharing are all thanks to the brilliant Barbara Leatham Photography, who also happens to be an RAF veteran.
And a special mention goes to Ed from AnX agency for his high-quality design work that brought our event materials to life.
For Entrain Space, working with local businesses who understand our values and support our community means everything. If you are looking for an outstanding event team, we cannot recommend them enough!

Community in action! 🎪🇬🇧
We are incredibly proud to announce that Entrain Space has received a fantastic donation of £750 from the organisers of the Wilton Community Carnival.
Every year, our resident veterans roll up their sleeves to help volunteer and bring this brilliant community event to life. Seeing that hard work come full circle to support our veteran community means the world to us. Mutual support is at the heart of everything we do.
Since our core team couldn't make the presentation at the carnival AGM last night, we were absolutely delighted to send our volunteer support worker, Iona (pictured centre right with black trousers), to accept the big cheque on our behalf. You might recognise her from her recent helping hand with us where she did a stellar job representing the team.
A massive thank you to the carnival committee, the local community, and everyone who supported the event. These funds will go directly toward supporting the veterans at Entrain Space.
Bravo Zulu to everyone involved! 🎖️

A great opportunity to network with local businesses today at the South Wilts Business Festival in Salisbury, hosted by the Salisbury & District Chamber of Commerce @SalisburyDCCI. ☕️
Securing high-quality employment and training opportunities for our veterans is important to us as we expand our regional network of veteran-friendly businesses.
There were many passionate local business leaders present; if we missed you today, please drop us a message here – we’d love to connect and chat about how we can collaborate! 🤝👇

September kicked off with a busy start as we hosted our annual breakfast event for our incredible referrers and support partners. During the month we also said farewell to one resident who has moved on to his own permanent accommodation, choosing to stay local to his support networks in Wilton and his employment in construction. Three new residents moved in, all of whom served in the British Army – two are service leavers from the First Fusiliers, and one is a Royal Artillery veteran who has moved in with their partner. Welcome to all!
Lights, camera, action! 🎬 We were delighted to host Maria Ribeiro and her team at our recent annual breakfast event for her exciting filming project for the Invictus Game Foundation (IGF) @WeAreInvictus.
Maria is Portfolio, Grants, and Operations Executive at IGF and the Thrive Together South West Portfolio Lead, supported by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust @CovenantTrust.
Our Founder Matthew Bell sat down with Maria for an in-depth interview discussing the unique challenges facing our veterans today and the vital role organisations like ours play in supporting those who served. 🇬🇧💼
Collaborating with influential partners like IGF allows us to amplify our message, champion our veteran community, and bring national attention to the causes that matter most. 🌟
Thanks to Andy Hadrick (Armed Forces Covenant Outreach Project Officer) for connecting us with Maria.
Stay tuned – we can’t wait to share the final footage with you all soon!

Big thanks to our volunteer, Iona, for heading down to the South West VALOUR Hub Experience Day at @AlabareUK HQ on our behalf last week! 🤝
Iona met Karen, VALOUR Partnership and Engagement Lead, Jamie and colleagues, over coffee at the informal event. She learnt all about the VALOUR services and how best to work together to support veterans.
Thank you for representing us so well, Iona! ☕️

Looking back at our annual breakfast event and still feeling inspired by the energy on the day. ✨
We wanted to share some more of our fantastic professional photos by Barbara Leatham, as they capture a morning filled with great conversations, shared insights, and a community proudly united in supporting our veterans.
Thank you once again to all the supporters and partners who joined us and shared their expertise. We look forward to building on those connections. 🤝🚀

We were delighted to welcome Rod Cullen, Strategic Lead for Homelessness & Rough Sleeping at Essex County Council, to Entrain Space yesterday.
The visit was an opportunity to showcase Entrain Space and share our vision of veterans contributing to regenerating communities while achieving a successful transition to civilian life.
We had a fantastic discussion about creating sustainable opportunities for veterans and placemaking. We look forward to further engagement with the council.

Yesterday Clair and Charlie from Warm and Safe Wiltshire delivered a fantastic workshop at Entrain Space, helping our veteran residents access funding to keep their homes warm this winter. A great, practical session covering energy saving tips and financial support with fuel payments.
Our thanks to Clair and Charlie for their time and expertise. ☀️👏
Warm and Safe Wiltshire is a brilliant service delivered by the Centre for Sustainable Energy in partnership with Wiltshire Council.

We were delighted to reveal detailed plans of how we will make Entrain Space more disability friendly during our annual breakfast event for referrers and partner organisations earlier this month.
Storyboards with blueprints were displayed, and during speeches our Founder, Matthew Bell, presented the latest addition for our Wall of Thanks – in grateful acknowledgment of the funding awarded by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust on behalf of the Office for Veterans’ Affairs’ Veterans (@VeteransGovUK ) Capital Housing Fund.
The undercroft will redeveloped to create a new lower ground floor with disability friendly gym, wellness area, private consulting spaces and lift. There will also be a major upgrade to the current ground floor training suite, creating an accessible multi-agency support hub and hot-desking space, for partner organisations to come and work in person with all veterans.
The plans include building two new accessible one-bed flats, plus making the five existing studio flats wheelchair accessible. This will bring the total number of studio, one- and two-bed homes for veterans at Entrain Space to 46, eight of which will be fully wheelchair accessible.

We marked a significant milestone at our annual event last week as we bid a very fond farewell to our colleague, Kenny.
For the past few years, Kenny has dedicated himself to supporting our veterans, bringing empathy, energy, and unwavering commitment to the frontline. He’s been the on-the-ground face of Entrain Space, shaping our impact and strengthening our relationships with professional partners and referrers across the veterans’ housing and support sector.
As a @RoyalNavy veteran and former Entrain Space resident, Kenny’s journey with us is one we are incredibly proud of. Presenting him with his leaving gift was a deeply moving moment and a powerful reminder of everything we have achieved together.
Thank you, Kenny, for your years of tireless service, leadership, and advocacy for our veterans and the positive transition to civilian life they deserve. We wish you the very best in your future endeavours, and we will stay in touch.

Dave, a @royalartillery1 veteran who served several tours in Afghanistan, was supported to gradually overcome his crippling social anxiety and reconnect with others through “social prescribing” by the Entrain Space team.
He engaged first with our Tea & Toast mornings, then initiatives involving caring for animals and volunteering for the local carnival, building confidence to start socialising again, sharing interests and forming friendships.
Dave’s journey shows how a supportive environment and a welcoming community can help transform lives, giving veterans a chance to rediscover confidence, purpose and a sense of belonging.
Dave said: “The support from the team made all the difference. They took the time to understand me, encouraged me, and gently pushed me to reconnect with the world around me. I’m not the same person who walked through the door – I’ve got my confidence back, a sense of purpose and I finally feel part of a community.”

During a very hot August we welcomed a new resident to Entrain Space; a veteran who completed a long career with the @RoyalAirForce. We also said farewell to two residents as they moved on to their next life chapters, and we wish them every success.
Throughout the month we continued to strengthen our links with local organisations and partners in support of our veterans, including the @wiltscouncil programmes Warm and Safe Wiltshire and Connect to Work; Grovely Riding Centre to explore volunteering opportunities for our veterans; and Wilton Town Council's public meeting to update the community on Entrain Space's progress.
