Announced on India's 80th Independence Day (August 15, 2026) and reported by BioSpectrum on August 25. Project AXIOM goes beyond ENTOD's existing expertise in low-dose atropine eye drops for myopia control — which the company was the first in the world to commercialise — toward a new investigational molecule. ENTOD is a 47-year-old Mumbai-based ophthalmic pharmaceutical company with over 300 products sold in 67-plus countries, DSIR-recognised R&D laboratories, 2,000-plus workforce, and global manufacturing and quality certifications. India's indigenous pharmaceutical innovation is now entering new ophthalmic therapeutic territory.
