To put this into perspective, Street lighting was cut by $7.5M during Bass’s first three years. Sanitation was cut by $11M. Look at the effect those cuts have had on the city. This award is $11M, equal to the sanitation cuts. The LAPD continues defunding our city.

A very well-documented case of a U.S. citizen being deported. It doesn't happen often, but situations like this — where multiple DHS officers allegedly refused to investigate a claim of citizenship — remain scandalous. DHS has still not indicated if any officer faces discipline.

BREAKING: This U.S. born citizen was deported to Mexico in April. During a traffic stop, Brian Morales told immigration officers that he was born in Colorado, and offered to show his birth certificate. They refused to listen and deported him. Today, he’s back in Texas.
