The man who ran the ground operations of Bengal's SIR as an EC observer, Subrata Gupta, is now an adviser to Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari.
He oversaw the deletion of voters. He is now in the office of the man who benefited from it; including Adhikari's own win in Bhabanipur, where 51,000 names were deleted and Mamata Banerjee lost by 15,105 votes.
22.21 lakh deleted voters filed appeals to be restored. The EC told the Supreme Court that 38 lakh appeals are still pending before tribunals as of September 2026.
These voters were deleted before the election. They couldn't vote. BJP won. Their man now sits in the winning government.
That isn't a coincidence. That is a blueprint. And Subrata Gupta's career trajectory is the receipt.
🚨 Breaking: Two former Bengal CEOs, Debashis Sen and Basudeb Banerjee, just admitted they found the SIR process wrong but couldn't push back because "the CEO cannot challenge the EC's instructions."
So let's talk about what those instructions produced:
90.8 lakh voters erased. 12% of Bengal's entire electorate. 27 lakh deleted purely on "logical discrepancies" - misspelled surnames, too many siblings - parameters with zero statutory basis under the Representation of the People Act 1950.
In 105 of BJP's 207 winning seats, deleted voters outnumbered the winning margin. In 86 of those seats, BJP had never won before.
This wasn't cleansing the rolls. This was cleansing the opposition.
When your own former field officers call it "sinister," at what point does the Supreme Court call it what it actually is?

🚨 BREAKING: An application has been filed before the Supreme Court seeking recall of its recent split verdict concerning the challenge to the 2023 law governing appointment of the Chief Election Commissioner and Election Commissioners.
The September 23 verdict was delivered by Justices Dipankar Datta and Satish Chandra Sharma. Justice Datta rejected the Centre's plea to refer the challenge to a larger Bench, while Justice Sharma favoured a larger Bench. The matter was eventually placed before the CJI to consider constitution of an appropriate Bench.
Senior Advocate Gopal Sankaranarayanan mentions the recall application before CJI Surya Kant today after Justice Datta's Bench released the matter.
CJI: We will examine and take a call.
