Express Entry Job Offer Points: IRCC Will Still Verify Genuine Employment With the reintroduction of job offer points under Express Entry on November 3, 2026, an LMIA will no longer be required, but IRCC says officers will still assess whether job offers are genuine. This includes whether the employer is actively operating, genuinely needs the position, can fulfil the offer and complies with employment laws. Officers will also assess whether the applicant has the qualifications and ability to perform the job and is likely to actually take up the position. Hopefully, IRCC can do a good job of detecting fraudulent or manufactured job offers, particularly now that qualifying offers can provide up to 100 CRS points without an LMIA. The last thing Express Entry needs is another market for buying and selling job offers just to obtain PR points.
