$ORE is a hidden gem because it has superior qualities compared to other SOVs
ZEC has privacy, but its not productive
BTC has a fair launch, but mining is inaccessible to most
BCH/DASH have speed, but dont have solana’s network effect
ORE belongs in the top 100
denominating in any cryptocurrency is a retail trap. btc volatility is more of an immediate risk than inflation rate of most local currencies.
the idea is to afford more goods and services every year. you would have to be a psychic to do that constantly rotating profits.
imo, vitalik does not care about wealth, and he is not interested in leading ethereum if it cant survive without him
i deeply respect him but i wouldnt touch eth with a 10 foot pole. or any L1 coin really.
It’s actually frustrating that Vitalik is barely in the top 20 and possibly behind Toly even though he’s done more for this industry than almost everyone on that list combined.
Larsen, Novo, and Saylor are all above him!?
Send ETH to $25K immediately to rectify this.
study ore
The next wave of crypto apps this cycle will be "money games" similar to Papertrade et al
New kinds of contracts and synthetics that offer conditional payoff matrices based on different behaviors or environmental triggers
Papertrade primarily orients around the price of Bitcoin/ETH, because it offers a persistent stream of bidirectional flow. Every great market needs two sides who actively disagree enough to put money on it. These environmental signals already attract so much attention from this userbase, and so it's easier to build on them than search for new ones.
Nonetheless it still feels like we're extremely early here. These new products will likely use the same pooled counterparty structure that makes perp liquidity better than options, and winning products will need to decentralize quickly via smart contracts to avoid regulatory overhang and user trust concerns.
These products will thrive precisely because they will level the playing field between retail and pro's, who will both be ~equally naive in their pricing of various outcomes in the payoff matrix.
Retail wants to play games they can feasibly win, which means great money games companies will need to be extremely good at constructing creative (and genuinely unique) payoff matrices on a regular basis.
My sense is that through this explosion of new money games, we will end up with 2-3 new contract formats that are extremely well designed for specific types of environmental signals - ie contracts that work well for high variance data feeds vs low variance etc etc.
This is basically what is happening to perps as we speak. Because crypto tokens suffer from so much upward and downward reflexivity, perps become preferred over options by simplifying the contract for traders who can't reason about the specific date/price targets they expect. Perps allow you to be directionally correct, which is useful for trading price feeds where the error bands on forecasts are wider than in options-dominated markets.
As more and more information feeds get brought online and made publicly available for agentic consumption, I expect we see new kinds of markets and money games forming around many of them.
Enjoy the show!

bitcoin was designed as p2p cash, and it became a store of value
ore is designed to store value, and its already p2p cash
solana:oreoU2P8bN6jkk3jbaiVxYnG1dCXcYxwhwyK9jSybcp is up ~100% since the reserve went live a month ago
ORE buybacks just got smarter. Introducing the ORE Reserve.
ORE mining generates protocol revenue that funds ORE buybacks. The Reserve will use a portion of that revenue to place buy-side liquidity below the current market price.
Initially, 1% of protocol revenue will be allocated across multiple price ranges below spot. The remaining 99% will continue through the existing buyback mechanics.
This allows the protocol to buy more ORE with the same amount of capital when prices fall.
ORE acquired by the Reserve follows the existing buyback flow:
90% buried.
10% distributed to stakers.
When price rises, new liquidity is added below spot. When price falls into the Reserve's liquidity ranges, that liquidity is used to buy ORE.
Track the ORE Reserve, liquidity positions, and price ranges in real time:
ore(.)com/reserve
$ORE total buybacks in the last year = $41M (currently at $53M market cap)
buybacks essentially guaranteed to trend up with price
there is little-to-no bifurcation between the token and the product
Is $VVV finally cooked?
Top performing (non-scam) coin from the bottom by far (+3700%), sub $10M annual buybacks for a $2bn FDV coin...
pump fun distributes infinite coins with no value
$ORE distributes one coin with infinite value
this is the tip of the iceberg on how fucked pump.fun callouts are. More than half of the "PnL" tweets you've seen in the last 1-2 months are simply from this & not actually trading.
they have near zero risk. infinite reward. they buy $5 worth of a 6k coin, spew some dogshit in the callouts, and allow the goyim to slaughter themselves for a +40% gainer. they don't even need to rape you on their side wallets anymore, though many of them still do (double dip mode)
it's a "human" issue because why tf would you buy these coins knowing this, but also the "game" that pump.fun designed with intention. 2 problems that need fixing; one easier than the other.

The long term security budget of bitcoin doesn’t matter until it does
Bitcoin's long-term security budget is becoming part of the investment case for Zcash
“I find Bitcoin deeply uninteresting”
“Anytime I've tried to talk about the security budget of Bitcoin over the last 10 years, everyone has said, you're thinking about it too hard”
“You have to think about this today”
“Zcash has gone from basically $50 to now $1,300, still sitting at a fraction of Bitcoin's market cap”
@santiagoroel questions whether Bitcoin's long-term security incentives are receiving enough attention.
As block rewards continue to decline through halvings, transaction fees will need to play a larger role in sustaining miner revenue. He believes investors should be examining that challenge today.
Zcash has become increasingly relevant to his thesis following its substantial price appreciation, while still trading at a fraction of Bitcoin's valuation.
He considers a scenario where capital rotates away from Bitcoin toward Zcash, although he stops short of making a clear prediction that ZEC will surpass BTC in market cap.
the problem isnt reddit
the problem is even if LTC flipped ZEC, it would still be <1 BCH
think about that
even in the best case scenario, it would still be less valuable than its closest competitor
the thing that isnt priced in yet
what if its BETTER to build money on a smart contract network
solana:oreoU2P8bN6jkk3jbaiVxYnG1dCXcYxwhwyK9jSybcp
"I love ORE. I think it's incredibly fascinating."
ORE is building money on top of Solana.
@tulipking and @KEMOS4BE discuss the game theory of money and the challenges of making it work on a smart contract network.
Their full conversation in the post below.
holy shit
theres an infinite mint bug in the United States Dollar protocol
apparently its been exploited for the last 56 years
i recommend “bunker mode”, and exit to safer assets like solana:oreoU2P8bN6jkk3jbaiVxYnG1dCXcYxwhwyK9jSybcp

WE NEED TO CREATE A COIN THAT IS PHYSICALLY INCAPABLE OF GOING DOWN. IF IT DIPS, THE DEVELOPERS GO TO JAIL. RED CANDLES ARE NOW ILLEGAL.
i rewatched Time Bomb Y2K, and it reminds me a lot of the qday situation
the difference is there was a firm deadline on y2k, so we might not know until something breaks
im optimistic qday will also be remembered as hysteria, but the most vulnerable system is clearly bitcoin
Replying to @notthreadguy
theres a documentary on hbo about it. it was a real threat that would have caused critical systems failure if engineers didnt fix it.
people wrote it off as a meme not realizing the effort that went into it
this is so true!
my friends who are scared of paper losses never realize gains
once you detach from the concept of money being scarce you free yourself to take risks
theres probably some well written theory about this but anecdotally i have noticed it
Unconventional financial advice but it’s true
The people who are too attached to money never do well with money
I can’t describe it but money has a flow to it. It’s like a river.
You have to always keep money in circulation
When rivers stop running, they grow moss & get gross
When you cling too tightly to money, you close your hands to receiving more
people fade $ORE because an sov without an L1 is a revolutionary concept
instead of funding security and development, which directs overhead costs outside of the protocol, it just buys itself and pays its userbase
it wouldnt be possible on a utxo chain without smart contracts
nothing in crypto breaks my heart more than bitcoin-cash:native
hated for 10 years, vindicated by BTC ossification, technically/philosophically closest to OG bitcoin, listed on most CEXs, survived multiple forks, impressive upgrades… and absolutely 0 motion whatsoever.
i respect the bch supporters, but i think they are doomed to a niche market status, similar to vinyl records vs streaming when compared to more capable big block chains like solana and others
while it may be technically better, it just wont scale past purists and hobbyists
their last hope is to gain some hashpower from btc, given it uses the same mining hardware. it could happen, but its an “if everyone just does x” situation. dead end imo.
other bitcoin forks are in the same boat
$ORE is the spiritual successor to big block sovs
