BREAKING: French police have encountered rioters and looters armed with AK47s and Scorpion submachine guns on the streets of Paris, Marseille and Lyon. The information comes from the Le Journal du Dimanche journalist Laura Tchekov, who says that her newspaper has received this information from sources within the DGSI, France’s main internal security agency. The weapons were carried by minors and young adults described as being part of organized crime groups but sometimes also close to the Islamist movement in France. The journalist says that not all armed rioters were arrested and that several of them remain on free foot. It’s believed that police officers refrained from making arrests as they thought they could be both outmanned and outgunned at the moment and that hundreds of people were on the streets, creating a risk of a shoot-out that could have resulted in a large number of wounded and dead.

Protesters in Paris climbed the Republic statue and swapped the French flag for a Palestinian one while waving flags from Muslim nations. Putting those flags on a symbol of French freedom openly claims their culture comes first. It sends Europe a clear message... mass migration is bringing parallel identities that challenge the host country’s values.

I’m French. 🇫🇷 And I’m tired of watching people confuse freedom with the freedom to destroy. You have the right to protest. You have the right to be angry. You have the right to demand change. You do NOT have the right to burn, loot or attack people. A Republic that protects the right to protest must also protect its citizens from violence. That’s not authoritarianism. That’s the rule of law.

I went to witness the riots in Paris. I’m going to tell you the truth: it was only young people from African immigrant backgrounds who came to attack our police officers and firefighters, loot our shops, and destroy everything. An elderly French couple in their 80s was robbed and left in their underwear in the street. The steeple of a 150-year-old church was completely burned down. This is not a social revolt for better education. It’s a taste of an ethnic war that took place today.

🚨 UPDATE: Protesters in Paris have attempted to reach the Élysée Palace, the official residence of President Emmanuel Macron, as violent unrest continues across France. The glorious spectacle of Timothy Miller wearing a burka spectator.com/article/the-gl… Brendan O'Neill, Spectator 16th Oct Crack open the warm bitter. Dust down the bunting. Put Elgar’s ‘Nimrod’ on repeat. For at last we have something to make every true English heart swell with pride. It’s the stirring sight of that 76-year-old geezer who was arrested for wearing a burka attending court yesterday in… a burka. Oh, this blessed plot! His name is Timothy Miller. He’s from Southampton. On 12 September he was arrested at an anti-immigration protest for parading about in an entombing niqab. The cops accused him of using the Islamic veil to conceal his identity. Not so, he replied: I really am an ageing student of Allah. He repeated this defence at Portsmouth magistrates’ court yesterday. He lifted his veil – I’m cracking up – to confirm his name, address and date of birth. He then said he is ‘studying’ Islam and he wears the burqa to gain a ‘greater understanding’ of the faith. His draping veil was flawlessly accessorised with a fetching black handbag. . . The sourpusses of the Islamo-left will wail ‘Islamophobia!’. They’ll accuse him of ridiculing Islamic dress. But the burqa is ridiculous. We didn’t need a pensioner from Southampton to tell us that. It is cruel, brutish, backward, sexist and profoundly anti-social to make women drape themselves in public like this. If you’re alarmed when a white male pensioner pulls on a sackcloth but cool when a brown-skinned woman is forced to do so, you might want to have a word with yourself. It’s possible this case will force some serious head-scratching in public life. Like, why is it potentially a crime for a British pensioner to cover his face but fine for a Muslim woman? Is it because she believes Muhammad flew to heaven on a winged horse and that women must wholly surrender the self to divine decree? If I embrace such truthless dogmas, can I also wear a mask on the street? . . .

Thousands of tiny brushstrokes went into this autumn path, painted by the Danish artist Hans Andersen Brendekilde in 1902. The image below is in high definition, so zoom in and look at the leaves one by one... The path runs through a wood at the height of autumn, the trees turning gold and orange and red, and the ground so thickly covered in fallen leaves that you can almost hear them under your feet. A woman sits alone on a bench at the side of the path, while two figures walk away into the distance, and the whole scene glows with that soft, low light you only get on a clear afternoon at this time of year. The man who painted it was born Hans Andersen in 1857, into a poor family on the island of Funen, and as a boy he did chores on a farm. When he became a painter, there was another young artist working on the same kinds of subjects, also called Andersen, and people kept confusing them. So in 1884 the two friends solved the problem together: each took the name of the village he came from. Hans Andersen became Brendekilde, and his friend became L.A. Ring, one of the greatest Danish painters of his time. For much of his career, Brendekilde painted the harsh lives of Danish farmworkers, but as he grew older he turned more and more to the beauty of the countryside. This is one of those paintings: a quiet path, a bench, and the kind of autumn day that makes you want to sit down for a while and watch the leaves fall...

This is me at 9. According to Islamic law, I was already a woman, legally old enough to be married off. My consent wasn't needed; my father's consent was enough. This is the Islamic doctrine that still exists and still gets defended. I’m an ex-Muslim. I won’t stay quiet while Islam gets whitewashed, excused, or ignored. Parents have a duty to teach their kids what this ideology actually permits, before it reaches them. If you care about the next generation, stop protecting the ideology and start protecting the children, and your society for the sake of the next generation.

Nature is merciless and has no care for what happens to any particular person or animal at any time. If you enter a tiger enclosure, expect to die, whether you are mentally disabled, deaf, autistic, a good person, a bad person, a friend to the tiger, an enemy of the tiger, or anything else. If the tiger decides to kill you, you're dead. It's just that simple. And the tiger will have no guilt at all. It's what they do. And the tiger is blameless. Tragic. May the victim not have suffered too much, and may his family and community find peace.

As a Muslim Arab, I am disgusted and heartbroken by what I saw across Western cities on October 7, 2026: people celebrating the October 7, 2023 massacre. Glorifying the murder, rape, and kidnapping of civilians is morally bankrupt, inhumane, and a disgrace to humanity. This wasn’t an ISIS or Al-Qaeda camp. This was in Western cities: people openly celebrating a massacre carried out by the filthy Muslim Brotherhood terrorists of Hamas against Jewish children, women, and civilians from all around the world in Israel. Utterly shameful. How did we reach a point where this needs to be explained? An eight-month-old baby was kidnapped. Women were raped. Children were murdered. Families were slaughtered. Human beings were dragged from their homes. No cause justifies this. No country justifies this. No grievance justifies this. Nothing justifies raping a woman. Nothing justifies kidnapping a baby. Nothing justifies murdering innocent people. And to see people in Western cities celebrating, glorifying, excusing, romanticising, or sanitising this horror in the name of “democracy” and “freedom of speech” is beyond disgusting. It is morally bankrupt. Shameful. Depraved. Inhumane. Heartless. Indefensible. What breaks my heart most is that we are even having this conversation. When did rape require a political explanation? When did kidnapping babies become something to celebrate? When did massacring Jews become something people could cheer for in the streets and still pretend they were standing for humanity? There is nothing progressive about celebrating barbarity. There is nothing courageous about glorifying terrorism. There is nothing democratic about cheering a massacre. This is not humanity. This is a moral disgrace. And the fact that anyone can celebrate such suffering should make every decent human being, Muslim, Christian, Jewish, or otherwise, feel both heartbroken and furious.
