It’s been a very emotional day saying goodbye to Bannerman, but thankful that I got to spend so much of my career so far with such wonderful pupils, within an excellent dept and as part of such a great staff team. Now on to the next chapter and leadership opportunity 👩🏼🏫
Thanks to everyone for their donations and book review bookmarks. We hope you walked away with something you’re excited to read! 📖

Some great discussion around leadership skills/ qualities with the S6 Reader Leaders today as we considered how this might help us lead reading activities this year in @BannermanHigh 📖 You can follow our journey on the Padlet linked here:

Looking forward to the last @BannermanHigh Senior and Staff Book Club meeting of the 23/24 session. Tonight we will be discussing this month’s chosen read, ‘The Ocean at the End of the Lane’ by Neil Gaiman. Can’t wait! 📚 @BHS_EnglishDept
An excellent first meeting with the @BannermanHigh Junior Reading Leadership Group who have come up with some amazing ideas about how to promote reading across the school. Looking forward to seeing these plans in action! 📖💡
What an afternoon! 🙌🏻 Thanks so much to @G_Armstrong21 for coming along and inspiring our young people today 📖
The @BannermanHigh Senior and Staff Book Group list of reads has been updated after our last meeting where we discussed award winning books. 🏆Take a look here:

A busy double period of revision for Higher today! 🧠 This class love playing Connections (and also love a bit of competition) so we created our own version with MacCaig’s poems and then they tackled some tricky SST questions on each poem together as a carousel. 🔄
Could your next read be waiting for you here? Very happy to share some of the books discussed at our first @BannermanHigh Senior and Staff Book Group meeting which focused on 'Recommended Reads' complete with links, ratings and recommendations!📚⭐️

Best advice for young readers?
‘Read what you love,
until you love to read…’

This period with the Senior Reader Leaders is turning into one of my favourite periods of the week! ☺️ Lots of bookish plans are underway and I can’t wait to see what they, and the Reader Leaders in S1-S4, have in store for @BannermanHigh 📚

It’s been amazing to hear and have conversations with young people off the back of this session. Such a worthwhile and valuable experience! 📚
