This morning, over 100 of our Year 11 pupils at @ArmfieldFCAT prepared for their GCSE English language mock exam by engaging in a writing masterclass taken by writer-poet Nathan Parker (@parkerwords). Absolutely recommend him if you teach English in Lancashire / north west 💥

Today, we welcomed @parkerwords to our school to conduct a creative writing and poetry session based on Lady Macbeth. He worked with some of our Year 8 @ArmfieldFCAT pupils on collectively creating a poem based on the play’s powerful antagonist 👸🏽#Poetry 📝 #Writing @EnglishFCAT

Convincing evidence from @douglasharris99 and Mary Penn that the presence of charter schools reduces the number of teachers graduating from traditional teacher prep programs: bit.ly/3WBcpvK. How you feel about that probably depends on your views about those programs.

We are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Joseph Delaney. He was a fantastic and passionate advocate for libraries in Lancashire and beyond. He will be dearly missed. Our sincere condolences to his family.

An awesome team of school leaders doing excellent work to improve literacy in Blackpool schools. Sustained, evidence-led, & harnessing local expertise and collaboration👏 Brilliant that the Education Minister got to hear about it first hand.
Today we were proud to welcome @nadhimzahawi @educationgovuk to the #Blackpool KS3 Literacy Project - a collective impact programme working to improve literacy among all 11-14 year olds across the town #ks3literacyproject

And we were utterly delighted that you were involved in guiding the project. Managed to name drop you both in discussions today with @educationgovuk Ministers and Civil Servants (@informed_edu - you too) 😁

Lots of thinking & planning behind this & some work from @RightToSucceed in being questioning about that planning. Fab literacy leads eschewing quick fixes & implementation as roll out. Lots of attention to diagnostics opened up a considered response. Privilege to be part of it!

I’m looking for useful resources or a scheme of learning used to deliver the ‘Telling Tales’ anthology. Is there anything out there, or somebody I can be directed to, please? #TeamEnglish @EnglishFCAT 🔎
