If you’re interested in the reality of being a football manager then give my interview with former Barrow boss Andy Whing a listen. He’s a great man and I’m glad he’s in a place where he can talk about the impact the pressure has had on his mental health open.spotify.com/episode/5fE…

Great to see! Archer showed enough at PNE and Boro (age 21/22) to prove that he is, when in rhythm, a lethal finisher with both feet. Premier League likely a bit beyond him but no reason he can't score a ton of goals and have a great career literally anywhere else.

🔥 18 year defender Stephen Mfuni, in his second Premier League appearance Started two games for Carsley’s U21s in last camp, one at CB, one at LB. Just listen to how Watford fans talk about his 8 games for them last season, and you realise the Man City loanee is something pretty special.

Good international camp for Mikey Moore (U20s captain) and straight into a good weekend winning the Rhine derby.
Mikey Moore had a pretty good game for Köln (2-1 vs BMG) yesterday. Some nice touches, a couple of driving runs and a snapshot that threatened to creep inside the post during the the first half. Call it 7-out-of-10.

The location for England’s WC qualifier against Greece tonight in Crete is pretty stunning but unfortunately it’s not managed to bring out the locals. 500 travelling Lionesses fans showing up in strong support. Pankritio stadium has the old school athletic track vibes

How proud must the Le Tissier and Scott families be? After the heartbreaking news of Alex’s grandad passing away while he was away last week, he decided to stay and earn his first Senior team start vs Croatia. Six days later, Maya scores her first England goal. ❤️

𝙃𝙖𝙧𝙧𝙮 𝙂𝙧𝙖𝙮 🔎 Football: it really is in Harry Gray’s blood. His grandfather, Frank, great uncle, Eddie, and father, Andy, played over 1,000 combined games for Leeds United and just under 50 times for Scotland. Big brother Archie and Harry, however, are hoping to represent England at the highest level. Gray turned 18 yesterday but has already made over 20 league starts. Regarded as a confident, clinical and hard-working striker, at youth level he was known for playing off the shoulder of defenders, intelligent movement and composure. In recent years, he’s developed and shown his capability as a multi-dimensional forward, playing in all positions behind a striker, especially on the left, where he’s impressed with his pace, power and intelligent passing. A product of Leeds’ academy, Gray flew through the age groups and even played for their U18s as a 14-year-old. He also made a first-team appearance for his boyhood club at Elland Road in a 6-0 Championship win vs Stoke at the age of 16. Following Leeds’ promotion, it was clear Harry needed a loan move for first-team minutes, so he joined Rotherham in the second half of last season. Despite joining a struggling side that were relegated, he gained valuable first-team experience and his first taste of scoring at this level, with goals vs Northampton, Exeter and Leyton Orient. He’s ticking off the Yorkshire clubs, much like his old man, having joined Sheffield Wednesday in the summer to be part of their rejuvenation under new ownership, with the aim of taking the club back to the Championship at the first time of asking. He’s represented England at U15, U16 and U17 level, where he scored his first Three Lions goal, and is now part of Ben Futcher’s talented U19s, alongside the likes of Max Dowman. He played significant minutes during the most recent international break and started as part of an exciting attacking unit featuring Luca Williams-Barnett, Ryan McAidoo and Alejandro Gomes Rodriguez in the 2-1 win vs Norway, where he provided an assist for AGR’s goal. The Grays join the Bellinghams and the Heskeys as brothers thriving for England across different age groups - surely it’s only a matter of time before we see siblings playing together for the senior team for the first time since the Nevilles in 1996.
