Corrective Asphalt Materials Presents: Preservation of Asphalt: Solutions for Long-Term Pavement Performance Roads cost more. Maintenance budgets don't keep pace. And a worst-first strategy quietly guarantees you'll fall further behind every year. This 45-minute session shows county engineers an alternative path: pavement preservation through Maltene Replacement Technology. You'll learn why asphalt deteriorates the moment resurfacing ends, how rejuvenators differ chemically — and why that difference matters — and what independent data, including a three-year Minnesota DOT evaluation, reveals real-world performance. You'll leave with hard numbers you can take to your board: 6.45 years of documented service-life extension, $18,574 average net benefit per lane-mile, and a 203% ROI. Stop managing the decline. Start deferring capital. Bring your toughest pavement questions. 📅 November 4, 2026 ⏱️ 2pm EST Register Now! 🔗us02web.zoom.us/webinar/regi…

Last chance to register! Connected Construction: How Real-Time Data Sharing Improves Project Delivery Infrastructure projects generate a constant flow of information between owners, consultants, inspectors, and contractors. When that information is managed through emails, spreadsheets, paper documentation, and disconnected systems, project teams can spend as much time finding, verifying, and re-entering information as they do acting on it. This webinar will explore how technology and real-time data sharing can create a more connected approach to construction project delivery. Attendees will see how providing owners, consultants, contractors, and field personnel with access to current project information can improve communication, accelerate decisions, reduce duplicate effort, and provide greater visibility into project progress, costs, changes, documentation, and potential issues. The session will examine practical strategies for creating a connected project environment where information captured by one participant can immediately support the decisions and activities of the entire project team. 🌟 Meet the Member! 🌟 Introducing Eric Hilty, an engineer from Jefferson County, Ohio serves as the NACE Pavement Preservation Committee Chair. College Alma Mater The University of Akron What do you enjoy most about NACE? What I enjoy most about NACE is the opportunity to connect with other county engineers and public works professionals from across the country. Many of us face similar challenges, and NACE provides a great opportunity to exchange ideas, learn from each other’s experiences, and bring practical solutions back to our own communities. What sparked your interest in civil engineering? I’ve always enjoyed understanding how things are built and solving practical problems. Civil engineering stood out to me because the work has a direct and lasting impact on people’s everyday lives. Roads, bridges, drainage systems, and other public infrastructure are things people depend on every day, and I liked the idea of building and maintaining something that serves an entire community. What is the most rewarding project you've worked on, and why? The most rewarding projects are the ones where you can clearly see the difference between where you started and where you finished. Whether it is replacing a bridge, improving a roadway, or solving a long-standing drainage problem, it is rewarding to take a project from an identified need through design and construction and ultimately deliver an improvement that will serve the public for years to come. What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received about managing a large-scale project? Plan ahead, communicate often, and address problems early. Large projects rarely go exactly according to plan, so good project management is not about avoiding every problem—it is about identifying issues early, communicating clearly with everyone involved, and making timely decisions that keep the project moving forward. It's not too late to register! JBand Presents: Rethinking Centerline Rehabilitation with Trench Paving, VRAM and Rumble Strip Performance When the centerline starts to fail, do you fix the road or fix the joint? Roadway departure crashes continue to drive the adoption of centerline rumble strips across the country, but many agencies face a familiar challenge: deterioration often starts at the centerline joint, which can be accelerated by milled rumble strips. This webinar examines how trench paving (also called slot paving) methods enhanced with Void Reducing Asphalt Membrane (VRAM) are helping agencies target the problem at its source. Learn how this approach can restore distressed centerline joints, preserve rumble strip performance and extend pavement life while avoiding more extensive rehabilitation at full width. 🌟 Meet the Member! 🌟 Introducing Lance Malburg, an engineer from Dickinson County, Michigan who has been a part of NACE for 25 years! What has been your favorite volunteer role with NACE? Chairman of the pavement Preservation committee. Got to know a lot of really smart people doing a lot of really interesting things. When did you know you wanted to pursue a career in Engineering? High school, I knew I wasn't creative enough to discover something like a scientist, but engineers apply knowledge discovered by others and I knew I could do that. What's the best advice you've ever received, either personally, professionally or both? Was told by a past Engineer/ boss Joe Dickrell when working for West Chicago about 30 years ago. "You make mistakes because you have a lack of experience. But you won't get experience until you make mistakes." He also said, "The best experiences to learn from are someone else's mistakes." "Don't be afraid of making mistakes. If you don't make mistakes, you are not doing anything new and are going to fail." It's not too late to register for NACE Connect September! Maximizing County Road Investments with Concrete Pavements County engineers are frequently tasked with maintaining a large roadway network on shoestring budgets. Making the most out of those roadway investments is critical to ensure a long-lasting and well performing network. Concrete pavements and overlays are often overlooked at the county level, as they are sometimes perceived as being only for interstate-level traffic or too expensive. This presentation will provide examples and perspectives on how many counties and smaller agencies across the country have successfully utilized concrete pavements and overlays. It will present a number of resources available to assist with introducing and implementing concrete pavements, including the new guide, “A Fresh Look at Concrete Pavements for Local Agencies,” from the CP Tech Center, and demonstrate how easy concrete pavement design can be with PavementDesigner.org. 📅 September 23, 2026 ⏱️ 1pm EST Register Now! 🔗 lnkd.in/ehRFn3Mi

Don't for get to register: You're invited to a NACE Forum! As states across the country explore property tax reform and, in some cases, proposals to significantly reduce or eliminate property taxes, county officials are increasingly concerned about the impact on local transportation and infrastructure funding. Property taxes remain one of the most stable and important revenue sources supporting county roads, bridges, drainage systems, and other essential public works services. Studies and policy analyses have noted that local governments rely heavily on these revenues to maintain infrastructure and deliver critical services. Join NACE President Pam Dingman, NACE Past President Ramon Gavarrete and NACE Northeast Vice President Pat Ginnetti for the Forum on Property Tax Reform, a timely discussion examining how changes to property tax policy could affect the funding and long-term sustainability of secondary road systems. This webinar will explore emerging reform proposals, potential funding alternatives, the challenges of replacing local revenue sources, and strategies counties can consider protecting infrastructure investment while meeting the transportation needs of their communities. Attendees will gain insight into the fiscal and operational implications of property tax reform and engage in a practical conversation about the future of county infrastructure funding. 📆 September 24, 2026 🕛️ 1pm EST 🔗 Register: lnkd.in/eUk9BXBK

Did you know that rural roads see a 1.5x higher rate of fatal crashes than urban areas? These crashes are primarily roadway departures. That’s why rumble strips are so essential. To protect that valuable asset, counties are pairing rumble strips with a materials‑based solution that protects the vulnerable joint beneath them, helping them last longer and perform better year after year. In the 2025 resurfacing of Otterville Road in Jersey County, IL, VRAM/LJS was applied below the future centerline and shoulder rumble strips, strengthening the joint foundations to last.
