⚠️ In this time of compounding crises, austerity affects almost all of us. Cuts to salaries and social protection. Privatization of public services. Higher food and fuel prices. Cuts to teachers, health staff, civil servants. These decisions can affect millions—but they shouldn't happen behind closed doors. 🌍 Ahead of the IMF-WB Annuals next week, our NEW interactive world map tracks current IMF austerity discussions in countries around the world. 🔎 Find out what's being discussed in your country and what it could mean for your people: endausterity.org/current-imf… Austerity is not inevitable. Alternatives exist. #EndAusterityNow✊

Last week at the Asia Pacific Social Forum, we spoke on austerity’s role in decimating food systems across Asia. Almost half of all IMF loans from 1980-2014 were in agriculture, forcing borrowers of the global majority to follow IMF austerity prescription to remove public support and deregulate the sector. Now, Asia is the world’s biggest hunger spot. We called to #EndAusterityNow to enable critical support to frontline communities and food producers. #APSF2026 #WSF2026 #climatejustice #foodsovereignty
