Inbox: Gov. Josh Shapiro has signed seven more laws, which puts the state legislature at 58 laws enacted this year. With just a handful of voting days scheduled, that means the Capitol is on track for its least productive two year session on record since 1975.

Pa. House State Govt committee passed a bill 26-0 banning gifts to state lawmakers. (This is a big deal because the state’s current campaign finance rules have minimal restrictions and this is something lawmakers have been talking about for a long time with no progress.)
Not answering the question, Pittman.
We have a right to a simple "yes" or "no" answer on the gift ban. Conflating the two issues is an excuse to avoid committing to a gift ban!
Replying to @StephenJ_Caruso
Pittman is asked if he supports a gift ban. Pittman says he thinks folks conflate gifts and campaign contributions. And asked how to improve the legislature, he says "take the cameras out of the chamber." People like to talk for them, he adds.
We need money OUT of politics. How can working class people have an actual voice in our political system if billionaires run the political process?
Let’s see if anyone makes some big moves in Harrisburg in the next few weeks to pass a gift ban, get foreign dark money out of our elections, or do anything at all to earn the trust of voters 👀👀 @PaHouseDems @PASenateGOP @PaSenateDems @PAHouseGOP @GovernorShapiro
How 'corruption' became a defining issue of the 2026 campaign -- arguably for the first time in 20 years.
Both parties are focusing relentlessly on it cuz voters now make a connection between perceived corruption and rising costs

Just another day of corruption being legal and systematically robbing us of our human rights and humanity
The best politicians in our system can appear selfless to trick voters while acting selfishly on behalf of campaign donors.
There is no democracy in our politics and there is certainly no democracy in our economics

Pennsylvania has a rich history within the labor movement going back centuries, from a 1806 trial of Philadelphia shoemakers to the struggle between organizers and Pinkertons in PA mines and mills.

It sucks looking at new technology that can do really cool stuff like cure cancer, but knowing that the oligarchs who own the technology are just going to use it to make gambling more addictive.
A difference between real journalists and social media “news influencers” is that one group went to school and studied how to verify facts and pursue truth, and one group is eager to influence and is VERY easily influenced (which politicians are VERY good at doing to them)
We need a recall process in Pennsylvania. We need to be able to put liars and cowards like this back on the ballot and not have to wait 6 years.
Behind closed doors, John Fetterman dodges constituents, alienates fellow Democrats and shows little interest in the work of a senator. on.wsj.com/4qUDFov
Corruption kills. There are 203 registered fossil fuel lobbyists in Pennsylvania (1 for each of our 203 State Reps). They are armed with unlimited legal bribes (gifts, campaign contributions, super PACs, job offers, etc.) PA produces 1% of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions

The state gave Shell Oil $1.65 billion in public money to build a plant in Beaver County that caused terrible pollution, created no economic growth, and is now being sold bc it isn’t profitable enough for Shell.
This is what economic policy driven by legal corruption looks like.

Great article!!! Everybody read it and then get more involved in the fight to get money out of politics!!!
New: At least 48 former Pennsylvania legislators are now registered lobbyists, using the knowledge and connections they built in public service for private gain. Advocates argue the potential of such offers can disincentivize legislators from action.
