I’m surprised how many people still don’t get what this is about. Put simply: they want to destroy everything that is good. They want to shoot you in the neck and laugh about it. They want to strangle your children and celebrate it. So of course they want to defile everything you love along the way. Ruining Narnia is a slow day for them. If you think I’m exaggerating, consider the work of one C.S. Lewis, who depicted a ‘progressive element’ within a fictitious university who soon graduate to making human sacrifices to a disembodied head in order to commune with demons. In all of his work, but especially That Hideous Strength and The Abolition of Man, Lewis showed us that once you start down the path of subversion, all bets are off. Desecrating Aslan may seem a relatively small thing, but they always start with the small things. That’s why the evil Frost tries to get Mark to trample a crucifix in That Hideous Strength. As for this film, if they can get children used to inverting morality from a young age, it will be easier to fully corrupt them as adults. You may think it is trivial, but they don’t. They take evil incredibly seriously and nothing is too much trouble for them.
