He got to collect $43,000 while being MISSING from work, and getting FREE HEALTHCARE after voting to make healthcare unaffordable for MILLIONS.

Things Jesus taught that sound a lot like progressive policy:
🩺 Healthcare — He healed the sick for free, no insurance required. "I was sick and you looked after me." (Matt. 25:36)
🏠 Care for the poor — "Blessed are you who are poor." (Luke 6:20) "It is harder for a rich person to enter the Kingdom than for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle." (Matt. 19:24)
✊ Workers' rights — In the Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard, the landowner pays everyone the same wage, regardless of hours worked. (Matt. 20:1-16)
🕊️ Peace, not war — "Blessed are the peacemakers." (Matt. 5:9) "Put your sword back in its place." (Matt. 26:52)
🚪 Welcome the stranger — "I was a stranger and you invited me in." (Matt. 25:35) Jesus himself was a refugee in Egypt. (Matt. 2)
🚫 Prison reform — "Let the one who is without sin throw the first stone." (John 8:7) "I was in prison and you visited me." (Matt. 25:36)
🍞 Feed the hungry — The only miracle in all four Gospels, twice. (Matt. 14, Matt. 15) "I was hungry and you fed me."(Matt. 25:35)
💰 Jubilee / debt relief — When Jesus started his ministry, he read Isaiah 61 and declared: "The year of the Lord's favor." That year meant debts canceled, slaves freed, land returned. (Luke 4:18-19)
👶 Protect kids — "Let the little children come to me." (Matt. 19:14)
⚖️ Prophetic critique of power — He flipped the tables of money changers in the Temple. (Mark 11) He called out religious leaders who exploited the poor. (Matt. 23)
