Last Sunday in Akwukwu-Igbo/Atuma Ward 1, I stood with Hon. Aaron Udoka Ebenuwa, our Delta North Chairman, and other NDC leaders, including Hon. Ashinze Charles Obiodogwu, our Oshimili North House of Assembly candidate, to welcome a large group of former APC members and supporters into the Nigeria Democratic Congress.
Chief Oblak Agbabu, Chief Ben Paymaster and the others who crossed over spoke plainly of years of marginalisation and neglect in Akuku-Igbo, despite the community’s past loyalty to the APC. They pointed to the absence of meaningful projects and asked what further loyalty had produced. In a clear break, they gathered their APC brooms and set them alight, declaring the association finished.
Those who laugh at us today, I said, should not be surprised to find themselves with us tomorrow, because the NDC through Peter Obi, Chris Iyovwaye, Victor Ochei, Isioma Ndah and Ashinze Charles Obiodogwu, is an idea whose time has come.
I also assured them that, if elected, the NDC would treat Akwukwu-Igbo as the headquarters of Oshimili North and prioritise its development and inclusion.
The day was another sign of the realignments under way in Oshimili North as we intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.
Vote NDC ✌🏾, Vote Peter Obi, Vote Chris Iyovwaye, Vote Victor Ochei.

"If Peter Obi had 7 million votes before, I'm assuring you, the vote is going to hit 18 million this time around because the level of poverty in 2022/2023 is not the same as the level of poverty now. In 2023, Peter Obi ran with a VP that couldn't deliver his ward but today, he is running with an institution like him, Kwankwaso."

EBONYI STATE: SECURITY, CORRUPTION, NATIONAL UNITY AND THE DIGNITY OF EVERY NIGERIAN
My grassroots sensitisation tour brought me to Ebonyi, the Salt State, today, 29th October 2026, following yesterday’s visit to Akwanga, Nasarawa State, as our nationwide Town Hall Series continues.
In Ebonyi, I made a stop at Nkalagu and Ezillo to greet and acknowledge our supporters and briefly visited the market in Ezillo, where I interacted with our hardworking women who trade and bring farm produce to market.
In Abakaliki, I joined our party supporters on a road walk to the venue of our town hall meeting.
At the town hall, participants raised concerns about insecurity, particularly kidnapping and banditry; corruption; government borrowing; and the deteriorating condition of our hospitals, schools, and other essential amenities.
The most touching contribution came from a participant representing persons living with disabilities, who spoke about the challenges they face and the apparent lack of adequate support from government and society.
I assured the participants that, upon election, our foremost priorities will be to unite the country, decisively tackle insecurity and confront corruption, while pulling our people out of poverty.
To our brothers and sisters living with disabilities, I reiterated that the compassion of a nation is measured by how it treats its most vulnerable citizens. We will work with state governments to ensure their inclusion, proper care and dignity.
We will also invest massively in education and healthcare, including at least one fully functional primary healthcare centre in every political ward across Nigeria, while working to reduce the cost of living and expand opportunities for all.
I sincerely thank the participants, our party members, the organisers and the good people of Ebonyi State for their warm reception, enthusiasm and active participation.
A New Nigeria is POssible, and Nigeria will be OK! -PO

Recently, I engaged Ika’s intellectual community at a meeting with The Opposition Gate, a sociopolitical platform with membership from the academia, business and professional cadre based in Agbor, on the principles that must guide Delta North’s choice in 2027.
Character, Competence and Capacity, not patronage chants, should determine who is hired for the Senate.
As an engineer and former Speaker, I believe results must speak louder than slogans.
Roads should last and sincere systems must endure.
Alongside Mrs Ogor Tony-Obuh, candidate Ika South Constituency, i informed them that the NDC platform, with Peter Obi’s prudence and Deacon Chris Iyovwaye’s Reset Proposal, offers a clear path to a New Nigeria and a Progressing Delta State.
We must be ready to make it real.
Vote Mr @PeterObi For President
Vote Deacon Chris Iyovwaye @dchrisiyovwaye for Governor of Delta State
Vote Rt.Hon Victor Ochei Esq FNSE For Senate, Delta North Senatorial District.

2027: My Aspiration Anchored on Character, Competence, Capacity – Ochei Tells Ika Intellectual Community
The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for the 2027 Delta North Senatorial election, Rt. Hon. Engr. Victor Ochei, Esq., FNSE @VictorOOchei, has said his aspiration is anchored on three fundamental pillars of Character, Competence and Capacity.
Addressing members of Opposition Gate, an Agbor-based sociopolitical group comprising lecturers, academics, professionals and businesspeople, Ochei, who was accompanied by the NDC candidate for Ika South State Constituency, Mrs Ogor Tony-Obuh; the Delta North Senatorial Chairman, Hon. Aaron Udoka Ebenuwa, and Director-General of his Campaign Council, Hon Gift Okwuolise; Ph.D, described the 2027 Senatorial contest as one that should be determined by personal merit, performance and the value candidates could deliver.
“Character, Competence and Capacity are the true measures. Every contestant is seeking to be hired by the people, and the people must hire on results, not on chants inspired by patronage, Ochei declared”.
The former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly cited his legislative experience and engineering background as key strengths, arguing that his record of institutional leadership made his candidacy different.
He also recalled his 2003 election, when, according to him, he contested on the platform of a relatively unknown party and defeated the then Majority Leader of the State House of Assembly. “I have never been an establishment candidate”, he said, describing independent-minded leadership as essential for Delta North’s representation in the Senate.
On governance and infrastructure, Ochei urged the audience to assess political leadership by tangible outcomes rather than slogans.
Drawing on his engineering background, he said roads and other public infrastructure should be judged by their quality and durability. “As an engineer, the minimum a newly constructed road should last is 10 years”, he stated.
He criticised what he described as the poor state of roads in Agbor and questioned the development outcomes associated with years of political influence in the area.
Ochei maintained that decades of political patronage should be evaluated by the development attracted, institutions strengthened and lasting systems established.
The Delta North Senatorial candidate also presented the NDC as a platform for advancing what the party had described as a New Nigeria, pointing to the appeal of its Presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, and his emphasis on prudence and responsible management of public resources.
“Peter Obi @PeterObi inspires real affection from the people, and his promise of prudence, cautious expenditure of government resources and homegrown solutions, is exactly what Nigeria needs today”, he said.
He further highlighted the Reset Proposal of the NDC’s Delta State Governorship candidate, Deacon Chris Iyovwaye; expressing confidence in Iyovwaye’s exposure and capacity to pursue industrial development, job creation and broader economic opportunities across the state.
He hailed Iyovwaye’s @dchrisiyovwaye impact in the engineering logistics sector and his successful partnerships with Dangote Industries and other multinational organisations, noting that such exposures had placed him as a superior material today.
Ochei urged the gathering to believe in the possibility of a New Nigeria and support efforts to translate that vision into reality.
“We must believe in the possibility of a New Nigeria and be ready to do all it takes to make it real. Character, Competence and Capacity, that is the superiority of this senatorial aspiration”, he said.
🔥 Vote Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei for Delta North Senate.
🔥Vote Deacon Chris for Delta State Governor

A few days ago, I had a fruitful townhall meeting in Asaba with the Delta State leadership of OK27 Global, led by Comrade Mrs Favour Awele-Obi, to discuss voter mobilisation, grassroots engagement and preparations for the 2027 general elections to deliver the NDC at all levels.
At the meeting, I emphasised the need for courage, commitment and a new direction for Delta North and Nigeria. I also stressed the importance of protecting the integrity of the electoral process through transparent elections, accurate counting of votes and the rejection of electoral malpractice and voter suppression.
Our responsibility is to engage our communities, educate voters towards a firm but peaceful and lawful participation in the democratic process.
I was alongside Hon. Gift Okwuolise, Ph.D., Director-General of my Campaign Council; Mr Chiedu Adikankwu, Team Lead of Team Ochei; Comrade Amaechi Azuka, Director of Mobilisation, OK27 Global; and other leaders at the meeting.
I thank the OK27 Global leadership for the partnership and look forward to implementation of voter mobilisation plans, as we approach 2027.

On Saturday, I led our NDC team to Utagba-Ogbe and Emu Kingdoms.
Standing before HRM Isaac Obi; the Oduosa I of Utagba-Ogbe, HRM Obuenwe Johnson Ekpechi Ulu; The Ezemu of Emu Kingdom, and the Obi Ndu Eze Council of Chiefs of Utagba-Ogbe, I asked a simple question: Why should a land rich in natural gas still sit in darkness?
As an engineer, I know the Okpai Power Plant and our gas deposits can power Delta North.
Electricity is not a favour, but the foundation for businesses, factories, jobs for our youths, and real development.
The monarchs received us warmly and endorsed this vision with prayers.
There has been enough of the neglect, and exploitation. Ndokwa Nation's wealth must benefit Ndokwa people first, and with purposeful representation, we can turn our resources into light, industry, and prosperity.
This is the New Direction we are taking towards A New Nigeria!

A few days ago, I continued consultations across Delta North with a productive meeting in Agbor alongside Chief Benco Nwachukwu, CEO of Denco Pools, and the leadership of his movement.
Despite the impromptu nature of the engagement, we focused on building understanding, aligning stakeholders and rallying support for the NDC and our candidates.
Present were Hon. Leonard Nwachukwu (Bawo), our candidate for Ika Federal Constituency; Engr. Sylvester Chukwuedo, candidate for Ika North-East Constituency I; and Hon. Mrs. Ogor Tony-Obuh, candidate for Ika South.
Chief Denco Nwachukwu pledged his team’s support, declared his membership of the NDC, and committed to our 5/5 agenda—from the presidential election down to the House of Assembly.
We then moved to the country home of Hon. Cyprian Nosegbe, where we were warmly received by over 500 enthusiastic loyalists ready to work for the liberation of Ika Federal Constituency and Delta North throughbthe NDC.
As we take our message to communities and stakeholders, the focus remains clear: strengthen our grassroots presence and deliver a New Direction.
