My mom worked on the Florida abortion ballot initiative for nearly two years. She is besides herself. "We can't sustain raising 125k a month to help women travel. We won't be able to get them abortions." This is devastating.

i LOVE when taylor talks about songwriting in her songs:
"don't need another metaphor, it's simple enough"
"i've spent my whole life trying to put it into words"
"grabbed a pen and an old napkin and i wrote down our song"
"something different bloomed, writing in my room"

You can’t have reading for pleasure without easy access to books. All primary schools need a school library and librarian

Every year, we do twelve days of books for our kids leading up to Christmas and it is one of the most joyful experiences of giving and receiving I’ve ever been part of ❤️💚

Having media for age specific groups is so important because they’re like building blocks in media literacy. Like when you watch Sesame Street as a kid, you’re not just learning shapes and numbers but you’re also learning how to watch TV. And that builds as we get older. ⬇️

Buy your kids books for Christmas. Teach them that reading is for pleasure, not to pass a test. Let them pick their own books, let them read what they love, let them see you reading with joy and enthusiasm.
