I once sent Emma Cropper to a west coast flood or something and I deliberately took the hat off her raincoat so she’d look really soaked and miserable. It worked a treat

Hundreds of New Zealand Defence Force personnel can be tracked by name across local military bases and overseas - including sensitive US sites - on Strava. Security experts say the data could be a goldmine for foreign adversaries. My investigation: 1news.co.nz/2026/10/06/fitne…

As a country that suffers its fair share of earthquakes, our thoughts are with the people of the Philippines after today’s devastating quake in Mindanao. New Zealand stands ready to assist, should that be helpful.

📷Everest Today

15 years ago today I arrived on Downing Street in a cage. I've seen off Cameron, May, Johnson, Truss and Sunak and I'm still going strong. Only two Prime Ministers have ever done longer stints here: William Pitt the Younger and Sir Robert Walpole. Bill and Bob - I'm coming for you... (Photos AP)

❄️ Ice apocalypse in Siberia -56°C has been recorded in Yakutia — the lowest temperature on Earth right now. Residents of the village of Tiksi are suffering from a powerful blizzard that has been ongoing for the third day. Schools have canceled classes, and kindergartens are closed. Snow is piling up at the entrance doors of houses, and people are unable to leave their apartments. Meteorologists predict that the temperature may drop to -60°C in the coming days.

Ahmed is a real-life hero. Last night, his incredible bravery no doubt saved countless lives when he disarmed a terrorist at enormous personal risk. It was an honour to spend time with him just now and to pass on the thanks of people across NSW.
