“Oversharing” is sometimes just what authenticity looks like to people who are used to hiding themselves. If someone thinks your openness is weird, maybe they’re uncomfortable with how honest you are, not because you’re doing something wrong.

It was a week or so before my uncles passing. For whatever reason I had an epiphany, that felt more like a thought that was placed into my brain. This epiphany made me realize to the fullest extent that I too would die someday. I don’t know why it never occurred to me that this topic also included me. Up until that moment this was something that only happened to others in my mind. Now that I have gone through two deaths within 2 months I realize that the reminder of we will die someday is not to scare us or to be morbid. This is just a very SHARP reminder for us to LIVE. This powerful reminder also makes life in the now feel more real. Each moment feels new and exciting. As we watch our loved ones slip into the unknown, life still goes on around us. The seasons change to remind us nothing is ever the same in each moment. The circle of life is beautiful, yet can be scary if you are not prepared for change. Knowing we only have so many breaths we can take has shaken me more awake then ever before. As Chief tecumpsa says in his poem ‘love your life, perfect your life, and beautify all things in your life’.

Sometimes people struggle to observe themselves, leaving them trapped in the same habits and cycles they don't know how to break. When you can't recognize the patterns keeping you stuck, that frustration can turn into anger at yourself, which eventually becomes anger toward the world around you.

Sometimes seeing the patterns in my own life, and in the lives of people around me, is a harsh reminder to take charge of the present. I don't want to wake up years from now realizing I spent my life on autopilot. I want to be conscious of the life I'm creating while I'm still creating it.

The reminder that we are all going to die, is actually freeing. It’s a reminder to LIVE in the now.

In just ONE day, we helped raise over $500 for Will. ❤️ Getting to know Will has genuinely taught me to be more grateful for what I have. He has so little right now, yet somehow carries more gratitude, kindness, and appreciation than many people who have everything. I’m so grateful for everyone who has shared his story, donated, or even just taken the time to listen. If you’d like to help Will get back on his feet, please consider donating or sharing his story. Every share helps get his story in front of someone who may be able to make a difference. ❤️ gofund.me/5e30a1527

How many of you are actually living in the present moment? Or are you constantly trapped in regret over the past… …while simultaneously worrying about what the future might bring? You’ll never truly find peace until you realize that the only moment you ever have, and ever will have, is right now.
