THE WEEK IN REVIEW | THE CONVERSATIONS THAT SHAPE THE WORK The week began with the opening of the Legal Year in Lagos, bringing the Bar and the Bench together around the shared responsibility of administering justice. It continued with a visit from the Muslim Lawyers Association of Nigeria, where we reflected on inclusion, representation and the importance of ensuring that every part of the Bar has a place in the work of the Association. At CARSPO 2026 in Owerri, the conversation moved to election security, the rule of law and the responsibility of institutions to work together in protecting the democratic process and at the public lecture marking the 80th birthday of Chief Kanu Agabi, CON, SAN, FNIALS, there was an opportunity to pause and reflect on a life of service and on the values that must continue to guide our profession and our public institutions. Different engagements, but connected by a common responsibility. To listen before we act. To build relationships where they matter. To strengthen the institutions we have been entrusted with. And to remember that leadership is ultimately measured by what we do with the responsibility placed in our hands.
