#MedTwitter it's been one week since I took my last call as a fellow. I've been mulling over this for much longer, but never felt like I had power to say it.
This is in no way all-inclusive or specific to medical training, but it is my experience.
A thread about kindness:

For the first time, @AmerAcadPeds is calling for universal paid family and medical leave (PFML), which “has the power to improve an entire generation’s health.”
The AAP recommends the policy should be at least 12 weeks long and provide parity across all leave categories.
The @AmerAcadPeds calls for national paid family and medical leave in a new policy statement.

Is the academic neonatologist close to extinction? @neosatyan outstanding presentation at #DELPHI2024 poses critical questions about the future of academic #neonatology - and thus, for Pediatrics. A call to action acknowledging gender inequity, non-clinical effort, and more.

INS (Improving Neonatolist Staffing) recommendations coming soon, will be presented in the @nicupodcast soon! @AAPneonatal @chrisbishopmd @EmilyMillerMD @Kzimmac @Damm2Christiane @WomenNeo
We need to inspire a new wave of neonatologists by creating a culture of recognition, transparency, and support. Reducing burnout starts with rethinking work hours, offering gender equity in pay and recognition, and investing in innovation. When faculty thrive, so does the future of neonatology! 🚀

Did you know voting and health are linked?
In addition to the direct impact that voting for kid-friendly policies has on child health, individuals who vote self-report better physical and mental well-being than nonvoters.
So many reasons to vote!
