Running a pub is bloody brilliant and I love it. I generally I only have one rule.......don’t be a dickhead mate, and guess what, I won’t treat you like one!

Mp’s supporting @UKHofficial campaign for hospitality being the heart of our community is great, but unless @RachelReevesMP actually listens and does something it’s pointless. Please for the love of god Rachel, help us! #taxedout #cutvat @laurakyrkesmith @UKHospKate

Mine have gone from £13800 to £59000! More than quadrupled. And even with the ‘transitional relief’ I’m going to be paying another £100 per month. What on earth is the point in doing this anymore??? @pub_that @UKHospKate @sashalord
The hospitality tax hike is leaving our sector #TaxedOut. Over three years, business rates bills will increase by 76% for the average pub and 115% for the average hotel. Our Chair @UKHospKate speaks to @GBNEWS:

Labour keeps talking about “working people”, but look closely at what they mean. They are not talking about builders, founders, shop owners, freelancers or anyone who takes risks. They are talking about people who earn from the state or rely on it. If you create jobs, you are now the problem. If you take risks, you are punished. If you try to build something of your own, they treat you like the enemy. This Budget made it crystal clear: They do not want a nation of owners; they want a nation of dependents; people who will never accumulate assets, never build wealth and never escape the system. A government that fears entrepreneurs more than it fears unemployment has its priorities upside down. Britain needs more business owners, not fewer. More builders, not beggars. More independence, not deeper dependence. If Labour genuinely cared about “working people”, they would encourage them to become owners, not block every path that leads there. We either choose a country of builders or a country of serfs. Right now, Labour are choosing the latter.

THIS👌💪✍️🙌👏🤞 Great video highlighting the need for a #VatCut in #Hospitality Lower VAT to 10% for the Hospitality Industry - Sign the Petition! chng.it/SHrPS5dbrw via @UKChange
‘THIS IS AN EMERGENCY’ - MANCHESTER’S HOSPITALITY SCENE CALLS FOR GOVERNMENT TO REDUCE VAT TO 10% Our hospitality scene is in crisis. Restaurants across the country are closing at an alarming rate, and many chefs, owners and operators across Manchester are ‘on a cliff edge’. They are calling for a reduction in VAT to 10% from the current crippling rate of 20%, more than double the average seen across Europe. It would ease the pressure they’re facing from rocketing energy bills and the cost of raw materials. Your favourite restaurant could close tomorrow. To stop that happening, watch our film and sign the petition here: bit.ly/3vVMp5A

The one single mechanism that 100% saved businesses and jobs, was when they reduced vat to 5/12.5%. That’s what we need back… That would stabilise the sector and allow breathing space. It would certainly save many smaller independent Hospitality businesses.

It’s as if we know what we desperately need?!??
The biggest tax barrier for hospitality is VAT, by bringing us in line with the rest of Europe, the chancellor has the chance to save thousands of small business and jobs. Cut to inheritance tax mean nothing to most people. #cutVAT apple.news/AxBAnruJ2SjiLpTiq…

Lady in audience, "I don't think the Tory government has a clue what SMEs do. We have 44% of the workforce, we put £2 trillion into the economy, and you aren't looking after us." Conservative MP Jeremy Quin looks ashamed #BBCQT

"received reports" I've been telling you this for months. Businesses are closing, people are loosing their jobs...but now that I've called for your CEO to resign, you're taking it seriously. Too little, too late. You need reviewing.
Replying to @Sacha_Lord

I've met Operators in London this morning who are ALL in fear of their next Energy bill. It's nothing short of a national scandal that @ofgem are allowing our industry to be destroyed by the big Energy firms.

This Friday, Energy Support falls away. Your favourite pub, restaurant, bar, cafe, theatre, live music venue could be at risk of closure. Many operators are being held to over inflated contracts they were pressured into signing ⁦The Energy Co’s are reporting record profits.

@RishiSunak @Jeremy_Hunt @10DowningStreet You have just Eight Days left to cut VAT and/or extend the EBRS before we face wholesale job-losses and multiple business failures.
