Grateful that the brave activists on board the Sumud Flotilla are safe. Any interception or attack on this crew is a violation of international law. They must be granted safe passage to deliver humanitarian aid and end the Israeli government’s blockade of Gaza.

It-
A few years back, there was a guy named Brandon Mayfield, an ordinary attorney living in Oregon. He had a wife, kids, a law practice, and lived a pretty normal life. Then, out of nowhere, the FBI showed up at his door, arrested him, and accused him of being involved in the Madrid train bombings in Spain. Why? Because a fingerprint database flagged him as a “match.”
Turns out, the database was wrong. He’d never even been to Spain. But because all his personal data was in government systems, and because the authorities trusted their “master file” more than common sense, his life was turned upside down. He was detained for weeks, his house was searched, his family was terrified, and his reputation was trashed, all because a computer said so.
Now, imagine that, but on steroids.
With Palantir building a master database, it’s not just your fingerprints. It’s your texts, your emails, your medical records, your purchases, your movements, your friends, your opinions—everything— all in one place, all cross-referenced, all searchable by people you’ll never meet.
If the system makes a mistake, or if someone in power decides you’re a “problem,” you could be flagged, investigated, or even punished, without ever knowing why, and with no way to defend yourself.
And it’s not just about mistakes.
Think about how this kind of power could be abused. Maybe you go to a protest, or you post something critical of the government online. Suddenly, you’re on a list. Maybe you lose your job, or you can’t get a loan, or you’re denied entry to an event.
This isn’t science fiction. It’s already happened in places like China, where the government uses massive databases to control who can travel, who can work, and who can speak out.
The bottom line:
A master database isn’t about keeping you safe. It’s about making sure you can be watched, tracked, and controlled.
If you think “I have nothing to hide, so I have nothing to fear,” remember: Brandon Mayfield had nothing to hide, either.
But when the system gets it wrong—or when the people in charge decide you’re inconvenient, your life can be ruined in an instant.
That’s what this means. And that’s why it matters.

US Presidential Races Hide The Criminality Of The US Empire
"The thing I hate about western electoral politics in general and US presidential races in particular is that they take the focus off the depravity of the US-centralized empire itself, and run cover for its criminality."

Netanyahu's Speech Was As American As It Gets
"You couldn’t ask for a better example of everything Washington stands for than this. Both houses of Congress rising to feverishly applaud one of history’s worst genocidal monsters dozens of times as he lies over and over again is a much better representation of what the US government is about than anything you’ll see during the presidential race from now until November."

Joe Biden campaign officially dies tonight. With a naked and brutal display of fascism in the nation's largest city, mobilized against unarmed students on their own campus.
This is what he said he would prevent Trump from doing. This is why we said there was no difference.

The US state will stop at nothing to continue the slaughter of Palestinians. They will label our own kids nazis, use overwhelming force to crush their dissent, Biden will tank his own reelection just to make sure kids in Gaza can be bombed and starved. Unimaginable depravity.
Vote NO April 2 on the 3/8th cent regressive tax for sports’ billionaires. It’s a scam.
If the Kansas City Chiefs don’t get an extension of a sales tax that would help finance a renovation of their stadium, they might leave Kansas City.
The family that owns the Chiefs is worth nearly $25 billion.
This is just the latest entry in the billionaire stadium scam.

Vote NO April 2nd
There is currently NO COUNTY LEVEL FUNDING FOR PUBLIC TRANSIT. And we’re supposed to want to pass a regressive tax for the sake of a fossil fuel billionaire and a nepo baby?
Vote NO on Question 1 on April 2. Let the billionaire owner buy his own stadium. #kansascity @QuintonLucasKC @Royals
The Chicago White Sox want $1 billion in public funding to build a new baseball stadium.
What happens if the city and state of Illinois refuse to play ball?
The team's billionaire owner threatened to move the franchise away.
This is exactly how the stadium scam works.

Even if you have committed to a side – Israel's or the Palestinians' – you can and should stand back, every now and then, to look at the bigger picture.
There are reasons the West is continuously waging wars, or fuelling them. Think of Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Ukraine, Gaza – all of them just in the last two decades.
One is because there is *lots* of money to be made from war – or there is if you belong to the ruling class. There's money in the weapons and technology that make the fighting possible; money in the resources, largely hidden from view, that are being quietly fought over; and money in persuading you and me that we must tighten our belts to support the war effort.
But there's another reason.
If we weren't at war, if a new war wasn't always dominating the headlines and our passions, making us either outraged or fearful for the future, we would have the mental space and energy to think about other things.
Such as how badly our societies are run, how the wealth gap just keeps growing, how incompetent our leaders seem, and how little is being done to solve the biggest problems facing us, like ecological collapse.
If we weren't so convinced that we are the good guys, if we weren't so eager to cheerlead another war, we might start to understand that we are all the same, that we share one planet, that our future hangs on cooperation not conflagration.
Which is precisely why we will always be at war.
