This article takes a thoughtful look at the difference between correlation and causation when it comes to CTE, emphasizing how difficult—and potentially harmful—it can be to self-diagnose the condition. (THREAD)🧵

The article further examines the mental health struggles of Shane Tamura, the shooter, noting his potential battles with depression, personality changes, and suicidal thoughts. While these symptoms are often linked to CTE, they can also stem from treatable mental health disorders

Another comment that @proatc made & I think he attributed to @dcatc1 @EmergencySports “Expanding EAPs to include meeting rooms, cafeterias, etc.” High School ATs have a great opportunity to do just that! Coordinating with school nurse and other stakeholders! #EAPPS

Equipment Acces is vital. If we can't have it right on the sidelines we, we have to have quick access and everyone needs to know the location. No locked door! No keys! No finding someone with access to that area! #EAPPS @EmergencySports @D3_MAATA

Can anyone help me understand? Most expensive member registration option is $495/40hr= $12.37/hr. So the @NATA1950 values AT time at $12.37? Also, 15 CEUs in person but have to work 40 hours to get it covered. How do these volunteers get CEUs? I have to be missing something?

"NATA avoids divisive political issues" No wonder we have no statements on the HEALTHCARE ISSUES that face the BIPOC and LGBTQ communities and women in this country. Can't offend the Good Ol "Boys". I have NEVER felt more vindicated to have stopped being a member of this trash
NATA 2025 Annual Meeting Update: To focus on NATA’s primary goal of advocating for the athletic training profession, NATA avoids divisive political issues while recognizing and respecting the diverse perspectives within our membership. We embrace the complexities surrounding the athletic training profession, navigating the intricate interplay of politics, advocacy, and legislative challenges at both state and national levels. We’ve heard ongoing member concerns related to controversial legislation in Florida, and some called for the relocation of our 2025 annual meeting. While NATA is not in a position to move the location of NATA 2025, we are committed to upholding the values, mission, and commitments of NATA and our members while in Orlando. We have and will continue to implement measures to make sure that members and attendees feel welcome at NATA 2025 and at all NATA events. Read full member statement: nata.org/nata-now/articles/2…
