Its annoying because they claim to want to help indies but when you say you have a tiny budget or no budget they are surprised. I'm indie I fund it myself if I could pay 500 a week just for marketing I wouldn't need help.
I want to say this:
I have never, will never, could never charge for coverage.
I share games because I love them. I share games because they are GOOD. I share games because I support indie devs.
Anyone who is asking you for money for basic shares on social media or the most low-effort type of coverage does not deserve your attention. They're not trying to help you, they're trying to rob you.
Please do not give your money to people who don't care about you and your work. There are plenty of us who want to help for free.
