The 5 stages of anti-socialism...
1. Crow "Economics 101" but offer no detail;
2. Name-drop Hayek and ignore everything since 1945;
3. Define socialism as "when government does stuff";
4. Retreat into Manichean history;
5. Give up on economics and declare socialism as evil.
Got that right 馃槈

I'm convinced that he's 'transitory'. His role was to hoodwink the leadership vote and then to eliminate the threat of the left. He's been rather successful in that endeavour. They can now replace him with any character that they think will celebrate a false-visionary centrism.

"Socialism is when government does stuff" is the political economy equivalent of reviewing War and Peace as "a book with Russians in it".
Media economics explains @jk_rowling better than talent: an information cascade turns early success into visibility, visibility into sales, & sales into market dominance.
That cultural capital then lends anti-trans rhetoric a reach its intellectual poverty could never earn...

Anti-socialism: the belief that if you deliberately define socialism as "wanting other people's stuff", you never have to learn what socialism actually means; or engage with arguments about ownership, power and distribution.
North Korea has no worker ownership, workplace democracy or worker control of the surplus. The state commands labour and a ruling elite controls production. Calling that socialism only reveals what we already know: anti-socialism is built on stupidity.

Free markets are the pink unicorns of economics: mythical, yet endlessly invoked. Thatcherism never freed markets; it used the state to privatise public wealth, weaken labour & unleash rent-seeking.

Egalitarianism doesn't mean identical outcomes; it means no class gets built-in domination.
Smith saw that danger clearly: masters collude, landlords extract, merchants capture the state.
Anti-socialists aren't defending markets. They're defending the oligarchy he warned about.

Prices are not set by fairy-tale free markets; firms use cost-plus mark-ups over wages, inputs, interest and desired profit. They defend margins and extract economic rent. Blaming the government then just becomes ignorance of pricing realities...

"Socialism abolishes price signals" is Econ 101 cosplay. Market socialism keeps prices, competition & profit-loss discipline. It changes the residual claimant: workers, not absentee capital. The Hayek problem is coordination; the capitalist problem is rent. Try reading past 1945?

Churchill was an imperialist and racist. No wonder he's a hero of anti-socialists...
Anti-socialism worships the invisible hand in public, then kneels before the visible hand of management at work: hierarchy, command, planning and surplus extraction.
Capitalism's daily little dictatorship dressed up as freedom.
Military spending is the poetry of waste: every missile is a school, hospital, lab or home not built.
Microeconomics calls it opportunity cost. Macroeconomics calls it impaired growth dressed in a flag.

Turns out the state wasn't abolished by code. It just opened a wallet. #cryptotrade

Modern war is not just "the state" randomly murdering people; it is capitalism with artillery: markets needing resources, firms needing contracts, empires needing routes & ruling classes needing workers to die for interests they will never own.

Anti-socialism is where churlish little men practise ugly language and mistake it for economic commentary.

Anti-socialism is class Stockholm syndrome: working class calling landlords "producers", rentiers "wealth creators" and socialism "theft"; while applauding the people picking their pockets.
