Growing older has a funny way of making simple things more attractive: honest conversations, peaceful homes, genuine friendships, and people who mean what they say.

Now, the next chapter is taking shape with second iteration of the Knowles-Rowland House.
The former Knowles-Rowland Center, which itself served the community through food, household and hygiene supply distributions, has been transformed into 31 permanent supportive housing units for people experiencing homelessness.
Temenos CDC recently toured the completed property and said “opening day cannot come sooner,” while its waitlist information indicates preparations for opening are underway.
Based on my own conversations surrounding the project, I’m currently tracking an estimated October grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony. A date has not been publicly confirmed, so I’ll be watching closely for the official announcement.
Beyoncé and the Knowles family’s investment has continued for nearly two decades, and now that long-standing housing footprint is expanding once again.✨

‼️ICYMI: #Beyoncé and the Knowles family have quietly maintained a nearly 20-year investment in permanent supportive housing and homelessness services in Houston.
In 2006, Beyoncé donated an initial $2M to help develop Knowles-Temenos Place following Hurricane Katrina.
Opening in 2009 with 43 apartments, it became Temenos CDC’s first permanent supportive housing property.
But that was the beginning of the work, not the end (please read full thread🧵).
