Happy Birthday @EIRSAT1! 🎉🛰️ One year in orbit and what a year it has been!
Ireland's first satellite, built by a student-led team from UCD in partnership with @esa, was launched into space in December 2023. This historic moment took the nation forward to greater participation in the global space industry.
In August 2024, @EIRSAT1 achieved a major milestone in its mission when its gamma-ray detector (GMOD) clearly detected two gamma-ray bursts from collapsing stars billions of lightyears away, contributing new scientific knowledge about the universe.💫💫
