“SUNSHINE SOUL
This is a little reminder that the light you bring to the world is needed so much more in times of darkness.
Please keep sharing your generous heart without fear. There are so many people out there who rely on the magic you create and the kindness you spread.
You could be the reason someone smiles today, the reason someone pauses and takes a deep breath.
You never know who needs to be touched by a heart like yours, so please keep spreading your light.”

MALARIA:
JK on Oxford vaccine evaluated by Ifakara for children 💉👶
On March 26, 2024, @ifakarahealth participated in the third End Malaria Council meeting in Dar es Salaam. Former President of Tanzania Dr. Jakaya Kikwete emphasized the urgency of combating malaria in Tanzania, one of the top 11 affected countries in Africa. 🦟🌍
Dr. Kikwete, a member of the Global End Malaria Council, commended @Ifakarahealth's significant contributions to malaria research, especially their recent clinical trials on the “R21” vaccine developed by @UniofOxford and @SerumInstIndia.
The vaccine, recommended by @WHO last year, holds promise in reducing malaria cases. Dr. Kikwete highlighted the tragic fact that 78% of malaria deaths in Africa are that of children and recommended the vaccine as a crucial tool in fighting the disease.

🦟 IMPACT:
The power of international cooperation in malaria control
🇨🇳🇹🇿🇬🇧 A tripartite China-Tanzania-UK partnership in malaria control has shown promising results, demonstrating the effectiveness of international cooperation in tackling the disease.
🤝 The initiative, jointly implemented by the National Institute for Parasitic Diseases (NIPD) at China CDC and Chinese Center for Tropical Diseases Research, @Ifakarahealth and other partners, from 2015 to 2022, reduced #malaria cases 📉 in Tanzania with innovative strategies like the 1,7-malaria Reactive Community-based Testing and Response (1,7-mRCTR) model.
✍️ Highlighting the project’s success in a brief published @Idpbmc2012 journal, the project scientists note that not only did the 1,7-mRCTR model succeed in Tanzania, but it also paved the way for scaling up in Burkina Faso, Senegal, and Zambia 🌍
