Orbital data centers have been in the news a lot lately. If you're wondering what they are, how they work, how they differ from terrestrial data centers, or where they fit in the broader space policy ecosystem, read my latest @ITIFdc report for answers.

NSA says all orgs using PHP should “effective immediately” prepare for critical updates to vulnerabilities that have trickled out over the last 24 hours.
Effective Immediately, all organizations using PHP for their systems are advised to be prepared for an update addressing two critical vulnerabilities. PHP is widely used for web applications. These vulnerabilities often provide a direct path to the server's file system or database. If an immediate update is not feasible, it is recommend that organizations take the system offline until it can be fully mitigated. NSA will follow up shortly with more specific guidance.
Today is my first day as the Director for Spectrum and National Security at @CTIA! Excited to keep working on spectrum policy and get back to national and cyber security issues as well.

The new par-4 12th will become one of the most famous holes in golf that everyone is going to want to play. Pilots landing at Reagan will say, “If you look over to your right, you can see the famous 12th hole at the Donald J. Trump Memorial Golf Course at East Potomac Park.” There will be a huge US flag at the tip of Hains Point. Should be a really special and iconic addition to our nation’s capital. 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸

Love a Prieger study; always careful and with the receipts (here in 70+ pp. appendix)
Supports the trend of rampant competition: cable competing with mobile; mobile competing with cable; satellite competing with both.
Policies that silo competition by technology are dinosaurs.
Competition from 5G is making internet access more affordable for Americans. On an average standalone plan, competition from 5G Home lowered cable bills by roughly $11 a month. Read more: bit.ly/4hLttun.

Massive support for the FCC’s NEPA reforms! Nearly 50 organizations shared their support early & even more is pouring in. These reforms huge for builds in the U.S. & future space innovation!

My statement on @FCC NEPA reform 👇
“The FCC just cut through red tape that’s been holding back America’s communications and space sectors, exempting a range of licensed activities from dubious and drawn-out reviews," argues @EllisScherer. vist.ly/5kfzi

U.S. leadership at the ITU is a beneficial first step toward promoting American-led standards for both space and terrestrial spectrum at next year's WRC.
Of course, having worked on Doreen's first campaign as an @NTIAgov intern makes her reelection a personal matter as well!
We’re entering a new Golden Age of space exploration, and spectrum coordination is critical to staying connected and driving innovation in all orbits.
With deep experience and steady leadership, NASA proudly supports the election of Doreen Bogdan‑Martin to another term as @ITUSecGen Jennifer Warren to the Radio Regulations Board, and the United States for re-election to the ITU Council. Together the U.S. is prepared to guide the in this exciting new era of rapid change.

Starlink V3 is another step forward for satellite broadband and the U.S. commercial space sector, says Joe Kane.
New satellite technology can help extend broadband to hard-to-reach communities, but the United States also needs launch, spectrum, and licensing policies that can keep pace. vist.ly/5k75i

I recently had @claudeai review some @FCC comments that reference the WSS proceeding and it was not convinced on the name
Can we all just appreciate for a second that the @FCC actually named its proceeding "Spectrum Abundance for Weird Space Stuff"

Framing here is wrong. Makes it sound like BEAD changes were in service of satellite. The reality is that, during BEAD reforms, the market filled deployment gaps on its own. That's evidence of the market working like it should with less federal spending.
