Thank you so much to @astroslop and @certifiedforgot for this insightful, psychoanalytic look into Elliot! It means so much to our team at @DDCP_SF to read such a thoughtful dissection of this project. 📼
Today! @AstroSlop dissects 2017's 'Elliot' as a descent into unknowns and psychology.
"Elliot is a low-budget film that follows the dreams, fantasies, and reality of the titular working drone ... a neon hellscape shot entirely on old video cameras."

Craig Jacobson's ELLIOT may be a first. A movie trying desperately to be an avant-garde stoner cult flick and actually succeeding. A bizarre steampunk-ish trip through a video taped nightmare. Looks like a curséd VHS from an entirely different film. No idea what was going on.

A very kind review of Elliot from @HorrorSociety check it out! (Psst - we really did shoot the movie from 2014-2017 on vintage Panasonic VHS camcorders 😎📼👻)

Shot on vintage VHS camcorders and bleeding neon out of every frame, ELLIOT (2017) is a beautiful example of 21st century outsider art.

ELLIOT (2017) proves that it’s still possible to make unearthly art by picking up a camcorder and following your nightmares.
