Home. Alive (which the doctor says I’m lucky to be). With my dog. I have to rest and it’ll be a while before I’m fully “ok” but I’m here.
enough to be mad. I didn’t take this seriously when I should have because I was downplaying it to certain people I have to deal with because they are so critical of me. Anyway, lots of drugs and tests ahead and I miss my dog & I hate hospitals.
I went into septic shock today, and a thing I learned about myself is that I spend so much time letting people tell me I’m too much that I ignore real scary shit that could actually kill me because I don’t want to be “overdramatic”. I’m not entirely out of the woods, but I’m ok
I was also asked for my ID at the bar tonight. The guy wouldn’t believe I was over 40. At first I was going to make a “you wanna see if I qualify for a senior’s discount” joke, but no. He really thought I was under 23.
I went on a first date 2night.
It was possibly the most bizarre one I’ve experienced. Which is saying a LOT.
Adding to the WTAF-ness of it all, ANOTHER GUY approached me outside the bar & asked me for my number because apparently I’m very beautiful. I mean, I’ll take it.
I’ve been making a flower crown for a Day of the Dead party. I put the final touches on it and decided to try it on, but the glue hadn’t dried yet and I glued it to my hair and this is why I shouldn’t be left unsupervised.
I was feeling meh about this evening, so I ordered sushi for dinner. When I went out to collect it, my neighbour was leaving to go spend the night w family. She’d given her dogs meds but when they heard me they made a commotion, so I invited them over to my house for the night.
I made a decision to have a quiet, peaceful festive season, just me & my dog.
Now, 30 Dec, having left it far too late, I’m suddenly overwhelmed w the desire to dress up in something sparkly & go out & dance tomorrow to shake off the 2024-ness of it all.
My best friend and I have never said “good night” or “good morning” to each other or in any other way or form - it’s just been an endless conversation. As long as we hear from each other during a certain window* we just keep the conversation going. Tonight I jokingly said good
the army, navy, Air Force and Mounties on horses & all of our mutual friends who will do the same.
(I have personal experience with this, with my exhausted boss coming up to me on the day I ran out of data to say “please call H, she’s left 12 messages on my phone”. )

They made actual phone calls. To be fair, it took them like 295 phone calls between them to consider actually calling ME, but we all hate actual phone calls. Still, I have my tribe.
A Trojan horse, but filled with puppies, and then your enemies are so overwhelmed by the cuteness of the puppies you don’t even end up going into battle & your enemies just give up because they realise you’re actually quite nice and peaceful.
