I’m leaving the Capitol at 4am after Republicans rammed through a vote paving a path for $70B to fund ICE for years without any reforms/accountability. They rejected all Dem proposals to lower your healthcare costs, housing, and gas prices. Spread the word. We need to stop this.

We’re not out to go around and just find all the little bits and pieces of everything that they smashed and tape it together and say, “Here you go, I give you the world as it looked in 2023.” That’s not going to work. It’s not what we need.
So much has changed, and the truth is they are destroying things right and left. They’re destroying a lot of good, important things. They’re destroying some useless things too, because they’re destroying everything. So now we get a chance to put things together on different terms.

You can’t detain a 5 year old child.
If a masked man grabs a kid off the street and puts him in an unmarked car… that’s kidnapping.
If that child is then sent to another state? That’s trafficking.

Thirty years ago, after Waco, the NRA began marketing guns to Americans as a way to protect themselves from armed “jack-booted thugs” in the government. And then Republicans joined in, loosening state and federal guns laws and passing Stand Your Ground, which in some states allows citizens to use deadly force against law enforcement officers.
