I'm always pushing clients to find creative ways to put their podcast in front their target audience. Here's me practicing what I preach for my own show Slumtown. My team at CBC printed posters and put them up around the communities we talk about in the podcast! <3 <3 <3

What can #BrandedPodcasts do to solve your business's problems and how do we measure it? Director of Audience Growth, @ElizabethHames, wrote this post about how JAR Audio helped @Staffbase boost their brand with a podcast and how we know it worked: jaraudio.com/how-to-measure-…

You have to keep in mind what's interesting to you as an audience, not what's fun to do as a writer.
Steven Pressfield says:
“The skill that is indispensable to all artists – the ability to switch in your imagination from your point of view to the POV of your audience.”
Thank you @jar_roger for making this happen. Can’t wait for the next one!
And thanks @jonahluke for the 📸!
That's a wrap! What an amazing few days in Vegas learning from and engaging with the incredible people ruling the #Podcast world. Thank you for having us, @PodcastMovement and thank you to all the wonderful people who made the week what it was! 🎲
“When you about yourself, be so detailed in your experience that it’s about all of us.” - @Kulap on stage at @PodcastMovement #Evolutions with Andrea Marquez at @amazon
That feeling when your client takes the stage at @PodcastMovement #Evolutions! I’m really proud to be part of the @amazon This Is Small Business podcast team in large part because of the work Andrea Marquez and team put into using their platform to uplift diverse voices.
Along with YouTube, @SpotifyUSA is one of the most powerful discoverability tools out there. Almost all the new music I’ve listened to in the last few years is thanks to Spotify’s auto play recommendations. I have been itching for something like this for podcasts! #Evolutions

a big feature for podcasts: auto-play. so when a podcast ends, another one will immediately start playing.

I LOVED @ErickGEEE ‘a podcast WILD, so after seeing him take home two awards for Ídolo last night at @PodcastMovement #evolutions I was so excited to check it out. I’ve listened to the first episode and I’m already hooked! podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas…
Spent my trip travelling down to @PodcastMovement #evolutions re-listening to this gem from @lrmayer. Truly delightful! I’ll be wearing my Fantastic Females of Industry shirt around the floor for sure. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas…
Love this tactic of asking specific, but open-ended questions to elicit useable feedback from podcast listeners. Thank you, @webby2001 !

This is a powerful example of how a personal story can fill a need for so many people and build a community around a commonality.
If you haven’t read or listened to @imontheradio’s book yet, go do it now. It’s a meaningful read for anyone whose life has been touched by trauma
Does this podcast exist? My kid has a limited selection of foods she’ll eat, and I’m looking for ways to help her feel brave about trying new things. She’s 5. I know if she learns about nutrition in a fun, entertaining way, it will pique her curiosity.

I think about podcast audience growth through the lens of human-centered design. A concept I learned from @jnd1er. "It means starting with a good understanding of people and the needs that the design is intended to meet." More 👇
The #1 question I hear from podcasters is some version of "why aren't my numbers higher?" and the answer is painfully obvious and simple but really important: Before you start a podcast, you need to think about who your audience is. 🧵
Don Norman also says that everything manmade is designed. That includes podcasts.
So when we're "designing" our podcasts, we ought to be putting our audience and their needs first, and then designing a show to accommodate those needs. 👇
🎨 Take responsibility for your own creativity. Don’t just stand by until an opportunity finds you.
