I love to lean into the word count constraints of #flashfiction, @IntrepidusInk. Everything in the #story must lead to one pivotal #bold decision point.
I’m constantly asking, does the #reader need this to understand the narrator and her journey? If not, it goes.
.@ElizabethCollis you brilliantly draw your narrator within a few keystrokes. Why is that essential for #flashfiction & how readers ultimately relate to your narrator? ✍️

Partly by creating a #storyline with lots of natural urgency, as #readers will see. Then I concentrated on how that immediacy manifests internally and externally in the characters to weave all those factors together.
