If we can't afford a decent basic standard of living for everyone in the UK, if we can't afford a basic pension, or help for disabled people, we can't afford to pay for helicopters to be used like Ubers for the royals.
The Mirror’s own pod just admitted it: talking about what the Sovereign Grant actually funds is “uncomfortable” because it’s helicopters, private jets, and a family whose costs keep adding up.
They’re tinkering around the edges. The real conversation is whether a modern country should keep bankrolling a hereditary luxury lifestyle while telling everyone else to tighten their belts.
Time to stop funding the royals.!!!#AbolishTheMonarchy 👇👇👇

I didn’t bother watching Kate’s video because I don’t speak Mumbelese. From the posts coming across my timeline, I gather it was the usual tone-deaf word salad. Even hard core royalists like this man are not impressed.😅🤦🏽♀️
“Kate, the Princess of Wales seems to have lost the plot. I don’t quite know what planet she’s living on … I think the Princess of Wales needs to think about ideas that are gonna benefit more disadvantaged families.”

Apparently Sally Rooney is Antisemitic because she opposes genocide.
People in Ireland are Antisemitic because they oppose genocide.
This is why Andy Burnhams comments yesterday were so deeply irresponsible - blurring all the lines between being Jewish & criticising Israel.

Internationally-acclaimed bestselling author Sally Rooney can no longer sell her books in the UK because she stands against Israel’s genocide in Gaza, supports Palestine Action, and opposes locking up pensioners for protesting against proscription.
This is Andy Burnham’s Britain.
Shame on him for allowing this.

Lord Foulkes just said the quiet part in the Lords: “working royal” was invented to con the public.
Cutting ribbons and waving is not a job. Teachers, nurses, binmen do real work. You’re funding a multi-home, private-jet aristocracy to the tune of £100m a year so they can perform for the cameras.
Most expensive monarchy in Europe by a mile and the media still treats it like a national religion instead of an expensive costume drama.
Stop the grant. #AbolishTheMonarchy
This week in Palestine:
- Israel killed more Palestinians, adding to the more than 74,200 Palestinian lives lost since October 7, 2023
- Israel has damaged at least 82% of all buildings in Gaza
- Israeli forces and settlers attacked Palestinians trying to harvest their olives

Why should the royals get a pay rise when we can't fund our public services? They're billionaires. #AbolishTheMonarchy

Meghan earns every penny. Kate lives off ours. Meghan built her own business Kate's never had a job. Crown costs billions while Archie's school is scoped by paparazzi. One works, the other waves. 💀

Andy - why are you giving the royals another £50 million when our public services are crumbling? No more handouts to billionaire families. Time to scrap the grant. #AbolishTheMonarchy

Young people live in a world where they are told by people in media and politics that compassion is stupidity, autonomy is meaningless, caring is naivety, humanity is weakness and genocide is justified.
The mental health crisis is real — and it is the establishment’s fault.

Reading Robert Kraft’s script off a teleprompter, both-sidesing genocide and somehow casting himself as the victim in all of this. Spare us the crocodile tears.
Ed Sheeran is a coward. Enjoy your blood-soaked millions.
Ed Sheeran addresses the controversy surrounding Macklemore’s removal from his tour and says, “What is happening in Gaza is catastrophic and unjustifiable.”
“Before I play some songs tonight, I hope it’s okay if I say a few words about this last week,” Sheeran said at the top of Saturday’s show. “I’m used to my music being criticized, and I’m always happy to take that because I’m lucky. A lot of you like my stuff, and to be honest, I’m surprised. I’m not surprised that I’ve even done it. You know, it’s normal. But this week, the criticism was about something much more important, and I’ve had to take and make difficult decisions, and I am making mistakes, and I’m so so sorry.”
Sheeran also said he was “appalled by the conflict between Israel and Palestine,” describing the suffering caused by the war as a “human tragedy,” while explaining that he has generally sought to keep his concerts focused on “unity, joy, escapism, love” rather than his own political views.

Before you say or think Charles Spencer is lying you better look up British royal family behavior when Diana died. Don’t embarrass yourself before you do

King Charles is exactly who the world knows he’s. Princess Diana was 16 when he met her, married her at 20.
He mistreated her throughout their relationship. She tragically dies, then to say “she will be forgotten soon enough”.
Then again just look at how he treats Prince Harry.

It’s either tweets about the Harry/Meghan non-news or soft soap coverage of royal PR. Yesterday MPs voted to double the core grant for the royals from £50m to £100m. Actual real royal news, but that doesn’t get mentioned.
