🔦Illuminating a dark-adapted leaf results in a rapid rise in fluorescence from Photosystem II (PSII), followed by a decline. 💜 Observed by H. Kautsky in 1932 and called the Kautsky Effect as fluorescence is due to photosystem II and not photosystem I because it's constant. 🤓💚
❤️Chlorophyll fluorescence is light re-emitted by chlorophyll molecules.
Excited chlorophyll dissipates the absorbed light energy via photosynthesis, as heat or by emission as fluorescence radiation.
The analysis of chlorophyll fluorescence is an important tool in research.🤓💚
