We will not participate in the EWC.
Message from CEO & co-founder below:
Hi everyone,
I’ve seen your reactions over the past few days regarding our decision to participate in the Esports World Cup in Riyadh. When we made that decision, it was with positive intentions. To engage with our community in the Middle East and to spread GeoGuessr’s core mission of let everyone Explore the World.
Since Erland, Anton, and I founded GeoGuessr in 2013, we’ve always strived to be a community-first game. Everyone here at the Stockholm office is a passionate GeoGuessr fan, doing our best to build something meaningful, with you and for you. That said, you - our community - have made it clear that this decision does not align what GeoGuessr stands for.
So, when you tell us we’ve got it wrong we take it seriously. That’s why we’ve made the decision to withdraw from participating in the Esports World Cup in Riyadh.
We will come back with information on how the wildcards will be distributed as soon as possible.
Thank you for speaking up and sharing your thoughts.
/Daniel

Cardinals are now watching ‘CONCLAVE’ to get guidance and tips on how to actually do the real conclave.
Many cardinals were appointed by Pope Francis and haven’t been around long enough to know how the process all works.

UMG has filed a motion to dismiss Drake’s defamation lawsuit over ‘Not Like Us,’ arguing that he willingly engaged in a rap battle widely considered a loss ⚖️
“Instead of accepting the loss like the unbothered rap artist he often claims to be, he has sued his own record label in a misguided attempt to salve his wounds.”
"In spring of 2024 two of the most popular artists in the world engaged in a rap battle […] Drake encouraged the feud, for example, when he felt that Lamar was taking too long to respond, Drake released a second recording (Taylor Made) in which he goaded Lamar to continue the public rap battle. Lamar did just that"
"One of the most successful recording artists of all time, lost a rap battle that he provoked and in which he willingly participated."

I couldn’t care less about using twitch views as some metric of success because it really does not matter, but it’s funny that a lot of OW haters are radio silent about this happening rn. Not a dig at Rivals, I like both games. Just be consistent if you’re gonna hate is all.
