The ROI for corruption in this country means that any business not actively pursuing it is cheating their investors.

One of the cool things about getting older after your dad dies is that sometimes you watch a comedy routine and can’t stop crying. And it’s not even related.
There’s a big fat guy who lives across the street from me. We’ve had block parties for the last 8 years. He’s never come. Nobody knows him.
Occasionally he has a big party and 20 or so cars park on the street. Like once a year. It is so weird. 8 years and I don’t know his name.
The bicycle gang has long since retired, and now I’m hearing screech owls calling.
So glad I bought this place right when boomers were selling their rental places they got in 2006 and before all the city people bought houses here after COVID wrecked the economy.
Everybody has an anxiety disorder. I think that’s to be expected. Either you do or you’re blissfully unaware.
The problem with that is that it’s easy to trigger you with stupid fears. You already have those.
“AI” is not going to destroy the world. Regular morons will.
Tech people may know things ypu do not, but that’s because you aren’t a tech person. And you most assuredly know things they don’t. Like how to be a normal human. I’m not particularly good at that, but they definitely aren’t.

Today I visited Lost River State Park in WV. It reminded me so much of a property my dad kept where he used me as free labor. I have great memories of that place and it hit me harder than I anticipated. He died a year ago in two weeks. Here’s a weird video from it
And the sweetest, saddest guy I ever knew as well. He taught me to think and feel. And to be a better dad to my children. Sometimes through positive examples, and sometimes through negative ones.
