Still, I’d like to see more people of African descent tackle economics and economic development topics. There are so few of us writing, publishing, analyzing, etc.
and it’s not easy
Some spaces are shrinking and new ones are opening
The glass is at once half full and empty
When I firstly tweeted about this attack, someone dm me with insult and threatening message. You can now argue with your ancestors in APC
Gunmen ambushed a convoy of traders travelling to a market under military escort and killed at least 20 people in Nigeria's northwestern Zamfara state, a witness and a military source said on Monday. reuters.com/world/africa/gun…
This is how terrorism has devastated once-thriving agricultural communities in northwestern Nigeria.
People can no longer travel safely without military escorts, particularly in Zamfara , the home town of the Minister of Defence.
The North has been devastated by years of elite failure and neglect.
Communities have been left impoverished & vulnerable, while terrorists continue to kill & displace innocent people.
The greatest victims are the poor, who are left to suffer the consequences of a broken system

I will never stop reminding northerners that there is no regular bloodshed in any part of Southern Nigeria. But there is
Bloodshed in Zamfara
Bloodshed in Kebbi
Bloodshed in Katsina
Bloodshed in Sokoto
Bloodshed in Kaduna
Bloodshed in Borno
Bloodshed in Kwara
Bloodshed in Plateau
Northerners are massacred on daily basis under Tinubu. His catastrophic failure in the North is why he needs massive northern PR. 2027 is a choice between our security or terrorism.
At least 25 people were killed in an ambush by terrorists targeting traders escorted by soldiers in the Bukkuyum axis of Zamfara State, Nigeria.

The 42 abducted children of Mussa School in Askira-Uba Local Government Area of Borno state have spent 148 days in captivity today! I’m calling on the government and our armed forces to #BringBornoChildrenHome the same way they rescued the teachers and children of the school kidnapping that happened on the same day in Oyo State!!!
I passed my PhD candidacy exams yesterday! It was a demanding but rewarding journey, filled with anxiety, stress and the pressure of balancing teaching, research and expectations. I read over 68 texts, from books to peer-reviewed articles, before reaching this milestone.
Residents of Yan Buki, Zurmi LGA, Zamfara, reportedly paid ₦50m (~$37,700) to Bello #Turji, one of NW Nigeria’s most notorious armed-group leaders, for abducted residents’ release and imposed levies.
Zamfara is the home state of Defence Minister Bello Matawalle.

Replying to @Edrees4P
It is a general problem not about North. Even in Lagos, the internet of major telecoms is slower.
Is it an attempt to limit voices from the North that are critical of the current administration?
or is it related to the deteriorating security situation in the region?
A few hours after the terrorists left the scene unchallenged, a local vigilante who witnessed their arrival said there were more than 70 heavily armed fighters. They burned their vehicle before leaving, and no security forces were able to stop them.

He knows all five of his First Amendment freedoms. Do you?
At least 18 people have been killed & many others injured after Boko Haram insurgents opened fire on civilians in the Marte axis of Borno State.
This happened on Independence Day. Tell me, what exactly is there to celebrate when Nigerians are still being killed like this?
Amid terror attacks, banditry, and other violent crimes, Nigerian authorities are arresting young people who publicly oppose President Tinubu.
Are we living in a democracy or under military rule?
