Add on how easy it was to run parallel code compared to C#, and still have simple code that anyone could read with ease... I was hooked.
I wrote code on the side for 9 months, something I had rarely done in C#. The community was so nice, and we were all learning together.

Go popped up in the news again later in the fall, so I took a second look. I had need to write a web scraper and downloader, so I decided to do it in Go. I was really impressed with how reliable Go's error handling made my code compared to the exceptions I was used to.

PSA: "Golang" is not the name of the language. It's Go. Only let the word "golang" come out of you when you're typing it in a search/input box for information retrieval.
I fully realize this is a losing battle--like the one we lost with "there are still servers in serverless."
