Under the plan announced today, HALF of all Latino student loan borrowers will have their entire debt forgiven. The impact this will have on millions of first and second generation families is enormous.

#BlackHistoryMonth lives in every borough. The Bronx enriched jazz, invented hip-hop and connected enslaved people to freedom with the underground railroad.

The Cross Bronx Expressway, built by Robert Moses, is both literally and metaphorically a structure of racism, with diesel truck traffic polluting the air black and brown kids breathe everyday. @SecretaryPete: Cap the Cross Bronx!
Transportation @SecretaryPete: " If an underpass was constructed such that a bus carrying mostly Black and Puerto Rican kids to a beach, [...] in New York was designed too low for it to pass by, that that obviously reflects racism that went into those design choices."

I voted! Seeing myself on the ballot for a #GeneralElection is surreal. This was made possible thru hard work, persistence & community! We’re almost there & I’m grateful for this opportunity to represent all of us in #CD18! Go out & vote, polls close at 9pm. #ForThePeople

Just another day being a woman in the world! The amount of times that I deal with street harassment as a female journalist who works alone is exhausting. Notice how quickly this man got angry when I tried to *politely* dismiss him so I could DO MY JOB.

(1/2) When you vote in the upcoming general election, there are five proposals on the ballot on changes to the New York State Constitution. These will be on the back of your ballot, and you can vote "yes" or "no" on them.

That's a thing I don't get about the messaging on vaccines: People keep saying "talk to your doctor" about it. A lot of people don't have primary care doctors! Especially dudes under 35, who are the people not taking the vaccine. No wonder they're going to Dr. Facebook MD.

THANK YOU to all the organizers and advocates across the city who worked tirelessly on our Census efforts last year. On top of official efforts, @TeamAOC dedicated an addtl $3M+ to Census organizing in our community. It worked! The Bronx & Queens were top performers nationally.
Poring over the data, and it's clear NYC's stronger-than-expected count almost single-handedly saved New York from losing two congressional seats; in fact it came close to saving New York all 27 of its seats.
