NEW FROM ALLEN ANALYSIS: Eight U.S. Marines were wounded in an Iranian missile strike in the Strait of Hormuz. The Pentagon did not publicly disclose the attack when it happened.
The Sept. 14 strike caused smoke inhalation and possible traumatic brain injuries. All eight Marines later returned to duty.
Their injuries appeared in the Pentagon’s casualty database nearly 10 days later, without an explanation of what happened.
