The scary part is not that AI found these PHP flaws. It is that AI now finds bugs faster than old patch schedules were built for. If a critical flaw dropped today, how long until your site is fixed? xitter.cf/unusual_whales/status/…
BREAKING: Two critical security flaws in PHP, the programming language behind much of the internet, are forcing governments to take websites offline, per the BBC. The flaws were found by AI. Security firm Wiz called them the “most severe vulnerabilities ever discovered” by the technology.

Before you give an AI agent access to your tools, answer 3 questions: 1. What can it touch? 2. Who checks its work? 3. How do you switch it off? The model is rarely the problem. Unclear access is. Which one does your team skip? 👇

AI in software development is shifting from chat to autonomous action. Doug Seven explains how Amazon Q handles the heavy lifting of upgrading legacy Java 8 to 17. It plans the migration, tests in a dev environment, and returns a commit ready change set.

Train one AGI to the level of a PhD cancer researcher. Then make a million copies. That's @peterevoss's case for where AGI pays off first: science. Diseases, batteries, energy, pollution. Which problem would you point it at first? 👇

Banks still run on COBOL, and the people who wrote it are retiring. AI that can read and migrate old code might be the most useful fintech story this year. Which legacy system would you hand it first? xitter.cf/OpenAI/status/21123103…
Our latest model advances bring stronger capabilities for building and migrating software in low-resource programming languages such as COBOL, Fortran, and Visual Basic. These languages power software that banks, governments, and businesses depend on. Progress here means understanding decades of business logic and helping developers modernize those systems while preserving what works. We’re building these capabilities around the challenges developers and enterprise customers bring us. If your team is working on these systems, tell us which languages and workflows we should tackle next. openai.com/index/low-resourc…

Ethan's point matters for any team running agents: you can't rely on reading the AI's reasoning anymore. Ask for interim outputs and tests at every step, like a new hire who shows their work. How does your team check agent work today? xitter.cf/emollick/status/211075…
The sudden collapse of the value of CoT (even summarized CoT) in the agentic era changes working with AI. Effectively steering AIs and getting any sort of observability now requires you to ask for interim outputs & tests, and to use AI help to troubleshoot problems you find.

OpenAI says more than half of AI use among its EU business customers now involves agents, and small business users grew 8x. The gap now is depth: one agent doing one real job end to end beats ten pilots. Which job would you hand off first? xitter.cf/OpenAI/status/21104420…
European businesses are rapidly expanding their use of AI agents. More than half of the AI use among our EU enterprise and business customers now involves these tools, and the number of small business users has grown 8x across the region. Our latest Economic Research report explores Europe’s shift toward agentic AI—and the opportunity to turn broader adoption into deeper use. openai.com/index/the-eus-nex…

Anthropic went from 2,500 to 30,000 code merges a day in four months and outgrew git. The lesson for business teams: when agents do the work, your tools, reviews and approvals become the bottleneck. Which of yours is still built for human pace? xitter.cf/AnthropicAI/status/211…
New on our Engineering blog: Creating in-house source control. In May, we merged around 2,500 code changes per day. In September, we merged more than 30,000 per day. As a result, we became bottlenecked by developer infrastructure built for human (rather than agent) scale. Here, we share how we built a new version control system—and fully migrated our monorepo from git—in five months: anthropic.com/engineering/re…

Meta's Muse Wonder reportedly beats Opus 5.5 on long agent tasks at $4 in, $20 out per million tokens. For agent teams the question is now which model finishes the job for the least money, not which is smartest. Benchmarks are Meta's own until it ships. xitter.cf/kimmonismus/status/210…
Meta did the unthinkable: Meta says Muse Wonder Full beats leading OpenAI and Anthropic models on several tests of sustained agent work. On DeepSWE it outperforms all other models, even Opus 5.5. On SWE-Marathon, its reported score is 57.5%, versus 46.3% for Claude Opus 5.5 and 42.5% for GPT-6 Astra. Active Memory retrieves relevant context across conversations. Active Focus helps the models work through blockers. Wonder is available through Meta’s API and Muse Code. Full is available to Muse Code subscribers. Meta changed the game. Expect OpenAI and Anthropic to answer ASAP. What a day!!

Biggest AI story this week: GPT-6 is rolling out. Someone on your team will ask to switch by Friday. Before they do, get three answers on paper. What will it touch. Who checks its work. How you'll know it paid off. The model isn't the hard part. The owner is. 🔖 #AI #GPT6

3,000 people replaced by AI. On Valentine’s Day. 💔 @peterevoss, AI pioneer and AGI originator, explains how his team trained AI like a child, step by step, until it could run the floor independently. But his real goal? AGI. Commercializing it is just a “major distraction.”

54% of companies have no identity program for their AI agents. Agents now open tickets, push code and read inboxes. If you can't list what each one can access, start there before adding another agent. xitter.cf/TheHackersNews/status/…
54% of organizations have no formal identity security program for AI agents. For human identities, that figure is just 23%. SailPoint's latest report exposes a widening gap between AI agent adoption and identity security maturity. Read more → thehackernews.com/2026/10/th…

AI can help you build faster. But what happens when you lose the ability to think critically? Erik Mendelson built 5 websites in 3 days with AI — and still sees a bigger risk. The real skill isn’t prompting faster. It’s knowing what’s worth asking. Full episode 👇

AI doesn’t always mean working less. For @erikanswerman, it meant turning ideas into multiple products and shipping them in days. @joshkriger adds an important point — AI can accelerate the work, but human creativity, critical thinking, and judgment still matter.
