My heart and my prayers and everything else I got is with the families at Silver Rail Elementary.
Congratulations to @ShawnFainUAW on your decisive victory as @UAW's President! Under your leadership, UAW is challenging corporate greed and lifting up American workers.
We look forward to continuing the fight for workers together.

You aren’t crazy. The reason you feel like your paycheck isn’t going as far is that it isn’t.
Because of Trump’s chaotic tariffs and the Iran war, inflation has outpaced wage growth for 6 months in a row.
While the price of everything else is going up, your wages can’t keep up.
Here's the key problem...inflation has wiped out wage gains for 6 months now.
It's a financial squeeze.
Americans are trying to work more hours to make up for it, but many are still falling behind.
Many people are worse off. As BLS wrote,
In the past year, "real average hourly earnings decreased 0.7%. The change in real average hourly earnings combined with a 0.6% increase in the average workweek resulted in a 0.1% decrease in real average weekly earnings."

This raid follows a disturbing pattern of abusing the criminal justice system to seek retribution against political opponents. President Trump has repeatedly targeted Congresswoman Ilhan Omar with inflammatory rhetoric that has contributed to threats of violence against her. We cannot ignore the troubling timing of this raid, just weeks before an election in which Congresswoman Omar is on the ballot.
House Democratic leaders have condemned the search of Rep. Ilhan Omar's home as an "abuse of power" by the Trump administration. Follow the latest updates: apnews.com/live/trump-greece…
The public deserves to know if HHS lied in active litigation.
HHS's failure to cooperate with requests for information about DOGE's access to sensitive information is alarming.
@BobbyScott is demanding HHS's internal watchdog investigate the matter now.

NEW: Ranking Members @BobbyScott and @RepDeSaulnier are demanding a detailed accounting of the damage DOGE has done to the Employee Benefits Security Administration’s ability to protect the hard-earned benefits of 155 million workers.

As a senior member of @EdWorkforceDems, one of the best parts of my job is meeting with students and educators across the East Bay. This morning, I was joined by Contra Costa County Clerk-Recorder Kristin Connelly and we sat down with students at Monte Vista High School in Danville to discuss youth civic engagement, election security, and my day-to-day work in Congress on behalf of CA-10.
Ranking Members @BobbyScott and @BernieSanders, joined by nearly 200 Members of Congress, demand that the Trump Administration end its attack on Head Start families and children.

Since Trump returned to office, Black unemployment has risen nearly a full percentage point.
This Administration’s choices are having real world consequences on families’ ability to make ends meet and workers’ ability to receive equal pay for equal work.

Last night, I joined AFL-CIO President @LizShuler to honor the late, great Bill Spriggs
Bill championed working people and economic justice. His legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of those of us who had the opportunity to learn from and work with him over the years
As the new Secretary of Labor, Sonderling must finally comply with all our oversight requests.
Answering to the American people is part of the job, and Ranking Member @BobbyScott will continue to demand cooperation with our investigations.
Once again, the jobs report is telling Americans what they already knew — the economy is not working for them.
Trump's economic policies are crushing the American worker. Rising inflation, wage stagnation, and slow hiring make it clear that we need a different direction.

Congratulations to @speea on winning higher wages and better benefits for more than 17,000 workers🎉
When workers stand together, they win better pay, stronger benefits, and better working conditions.

If just 20 percent of eligible donors participate in Republicans' voucher scheme, the cost to taxpayers would exceed all federal spending on Title I and IDEA combined.
Imagine what we could do if we used this money to improve all of America’s public schools instead.
The Trump administration has taken a major step toward launching the nation’s first federally funded school voucher program, set to steer billions of tax dollars to private schools — but also, perhaps, to public school students. wapo.st/4dKBwq8
Chronic underfunding of community colleges is jeopardizing their ability to support their students and communities.
America's College Promise Act would waive tuition for eligible students at community colleges and two-year Tribal Colleges and Universities.
$500 right before the election won't help the 15 million people losing their insurance because of Medicaid cuts and expiring tax credits. And it won't come close to offsetting higher gas and other prices caused by an unnecessary war and chaotic tariffs.

Direct care workers show up for our families every day.
@BobbyScott, @Rep_Grijalva & @RepSusieLee are reintroducing the Direct CARE Opportunity Act to invest in training and create more opportunities for the workers who care for our nation.

🚨 A new government watchdog report shows that after the Trump Administration stopped collecting key child labor data, its enforcement became less effective.
Child labor should be a lesson taught in history class, not an ongoing crisis.
